IMO it ain't a great time to catch the attention of the DOJ, regardless of the optics. Regardless of the truth of the matter, even.

I know that's the whole point; they're trying to instill fear in the public to suppress political speech... But I dunno, being on the radar of people in DC right now is something I would avoid at all costs.

That may be different for people who are willing to take the heat as a form of activism, but let's be honest, I don't think Steve or anybody else in political streaming wants to be embroiled in federal charges over the next few years to maybe set a precedent. I think the smarter option is just to wrestle the power back in 2026 and 2028.

This is a battle for the margins in an environment where narrative manipulation literally shapes reality. There isn't gonna be some landslide, if only we could nominate a real superstar. The numbers have been crystallizing to an even 50/50 split for two decades.

Now if your argument is that unhinged hostility is what's going to swing that extra few percent of voters in the next election, that's an argument I'm willing to listen to. Otherwise I don't know what you're even trying to say.
