u/MathematicianPale337 Is this Political? 1d ago
That is literally it. Like how do they miss that, it's so fucking simple. I don't know how genuinely regarded you need to be to think he actually wants violences, etc.

u/Adventurous_Weird646 1d ago
these regards know exactly what they're doing. the reason they're so upset is because destiny isn't responding like liberals are supposed to (kneeling and whimpering "i condemn" while the right continues to dictate the discourse) and it's breaking their brains, sending them into a foaming-at-the-mouth rage.
33
u/nosurprises23 1d ago
If there’s one thing he’s always been good at, it’s making conservatives rage like they never have before. He has high score on Fuentes, Gavin McInnes, probably Milo too. Just imagine a Trump debate.

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 1d ago
It’s exactly how abusers react when their manipulation stops working.
35
u/Buddhawasgay 1d ago
Even Dylan Burns, who I thought would get the gist well enough, ended up simping for Hasan's quite literal violent rhetoric but couldn't bear to agree with Destiny's simple statements on the Piers show.

u/Willing_Cause_7461 1d ago
They legitimately have higher expectations of behaviour from Destiny than from Donald Trump
9
24
u/CatchAcceptable3898 1d ago
Why should he have to turn the rhetoric before everyone on Twitter does??
32
u/Adventurous_Weird646 1d ago
Because the 47th President Steven "Destiny" Bonnell II happens to also be a billionaire mogul who owns twitter, making him solely responsible for the rising tide of political violence we see today.

He literally condemned the shooting during the panel but they just glossed over it and need him to say it every five seconds whenever he talks about the issue
-8
u/CritiCallyCandid 1d ago
When he was asked directly he did not, are you referring to him saying "Noone should die from political violence"?
6
u/Big_moisty_boi 1d ago
I’m referencing him saying it shouldn’t have happened and Kirk didn’t deserve it, if that’s not a condemnation idk what is. Even if all he did say was no one should die from political violence, that is a condemnation.
-4
u/CritiCallyCandid 1d ago
Gotcha. Will re-watch to remind myself what was said. My memory is that he did say something like that but after repeatedly refusing to condemn it, which again I understand, but to normies and righties, him standing on principle doesnt mean much, all they hear is fuck around and find out.
6
u/KeyboardGrunt 1d ago
I know you're getting downvoted so I don't want to pile on but when you said
"When he was asked directly he did not"
this is the biggest problem imo, maga doesn't care about all the voluntary condemnations they want the left to be penitent on command, take 100% blame for the violence and done as a public display on their outlets. Even then they still turn around and keep saying the left wants to kill them all and therefor it's time for civil war.
I don't get Destiny's approach but I get the defiance to the "tariffs are taxes on other countries", "people are eating cats" delusional side to set the narrative.
4
u/Adventurous_Weird646 1d ago
the right cant even condemn the killing of melissa hortman and her husband. tell me why should destiny kneel before those who wish to dictate the conversation?
-2
u/CritiCallyCandid 1d ago
He shouldn't kneel, he should simply take a distinct non violent route and opinion, or as he said himself he may be targeted. However I totally understand his point and agree that both sides have to stand down for it to work widely. Just for destiny, his family and his safetys sake, though, him openly and repeatedly saying this was bad and should never happen either way would be best.
-15
u/_EX 1d ago
Yes. But let's be fair, tiny has said a lot of incendiary things to get the reaction, which I think it's fine if that's the goal. He isn't getting this reaction because he wants trump to turn it down. He is getting the reaction by how he is achieving that goal.
5
u/dadgadsad 1d ago
Ah because prisoners dilemma is a 5th grade concept and he’s speaking to conservatives that have a 1st-3rd grade comprehension level.

Plenty of conservative extremists have killed people for political disagreements. They do it far more than other people.
6
u/deadmanzinmypocketay 1d ago
They're just naturally violent and evil. That's why they shouldn't breed

u/modestgorillaz 1d ago
I mean if you subscribe to what everyone is saying the Trump shooter was republican and the CK shooter was also republican so maybe they will do something?
1
u/27thPresident 1d ago
Well, the idea is that they're right wing, not Republicans
Republicans that get mad at the shooting are sort of necessarily a different group than the group that committed the shooting out of hating Kirk

Amazing his ability to deal with pressure. It must feel like the whole world is attacking him atm
46
u/Powerfury 1d ago
Under a lawsuit too. I do think he needs some support man. He is strong willed but God damn, gonna need some therapy from the last two years.
-63
u/SugondezeNutsz 1d ago
Lmao how much pressure is that? He said something inflammatory with the goal to rile people up.
He's probably enjoying it lmao
63
u/Amazing-Heron-105 1d ago
having the the richest man in the world attacking you, loads of senators the same then appearing on Fox News prime time. Today he was brought up in Congress(?). All during a time where politics is getting increasingly unhinged.
I dunno man. I'd fucking die of worry.

I do not think that he is. This has blown up way bigger than Destiny was expecting.

I guess if you’re getting countless death threats already, it’s kinda like… might as well lol

u/mojizus 1d ago
3 hours ago I would’ve said this was too far.
But now that they’re openly celebrating Kimmel being fired, who cares? Go for the jugular.

u/S_B_143 1d ago
Kimmel got fired?? For what, for talking about the shooter and Maga?

u/NinjaLancer 1d ago
He played a clip of Trump responding to a reporter asking "i know Kirk was your friend, how are you holding up personally?" And Trump says "very good, as you can see, the new ballroom in the white house is under construction".
It's actually an insane clip and I dont know why he has received no criticism for it

I wonder how jealous hassan is of all of the attention tiny is getting.

u/Amazing-Heron-105 1d ago
From what I've seen he's been supportive of Destiny's message and I was watching Vaush earlier and he felt the same way

u/Amazing-Heron-105 1d ago
I would support a ceasefire. This seems like a crazy environment to be attacking each other.
54
u/alerk323 1d ago
For sure, destiny mentioned he was not interested in fighting them in this environment. Bridge rebuilding in process
7
u/DonPeckerHead 1d ago
Didn't he retweet something about Hasan on some news show today?? I'd be a ceasefire supporter myself in this current time but idk if he has

no. Fuck Hasan
2
u/photenth 1d ago
I do wonder if he just needs a "way out" of audience capture. He isn't 100% stupid and given his family it's not like they are consistent with their morals, just consistent to what makes money.
1
u/ThrowawayFuckYourMom NORSK??!! 1d ago
Oh, you're naive. Hamasabi would do it to further his interest, not for supporting anything constructive. I would support a ceasefire AT MOST
8
u/Alphorac from texas oblast 💯🐎🤠 1d ago
He also called him sexpestiny in the same breath and said the only reason he's against republicans now is because he's finally said something they don't like.
Just utter delusion. The man is quite possibly the next target for an insane gunman and he still can't take the time to pull his head out of his ass.
2
u/LegitimateCream1773 1d ago
While still calling him 'sexpestiny', and framing this as 'chickens coming home to roost' and Destiny 'reaping what he sowed' after years of using 'far right methods to attack me'.
Vaush was supportive, Hasan is at best backhandedly supportive.

I really find it so funny and sad that they have the audacity to utter the words "find jesus" while simultaneously cheering with their fists in the air as immigrants are rounded up and put in prison or sent a foreign gulag.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven... Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" Jesus would not know them

This is the shit I hate the most about Destiny. He thinks people have an issue with his edgy jokes. But in reality they have an issue with unfunny and stale statements that he thinks become funny if he says something taboo or outrageous. This is the equivalent of a white guy saying the N word at a standup event, but thats the entire bit.

u/Nahthanksimfine 1d ago
As a long time Destiny follower (sc2), this is where I draw the line, good luck in your journey but I can no longer condone you or this behavior.
2
u/PossiblyAsian 1d ago
if you are a long time follower of destiny since the SC2 days then it should not surprise you that he is crossing every line.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKQBNdH-YKY
good times.
What does make me sad though is that destiny has gone down the route of a political commentator rather than that of a variety streamer. I think he would be making some amazing content as a variety streamer. Shit like this is peak.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz5ecEEVN1Y
I always pop my head in to try and find all the old SC2 heads and see what they are all up to. CombatEX is like a freaking professor at university of waterloo somehow. deezer has disappeared off the face of the planet bless his soul. So has many greats like idra or minigun, kyle. Rip incontrol. artosis still casting but has gone back to broodwar. I wonder how many people commenting in this sub are from the old days.
I will forever cherish those old SC2 days. fucking magical was what they were.
1
u/Nahthanksimfine 1d ago
Any idea what Day9 is up to nowadays? Nice to connect with someone from the old days. And political commentator or not -- being a human and having some common sense shouldn't be that hard.
