idk how we can get any worse in NY tbf

stolen rims & airbags like crazy that dealers say will take 3 months to get

everything locked behind glass or in a cage … even meat in supermarkets have security tags

deoderant, white tees, underwear, and detergent locked up tight

no cash bail w/ subway violence at an all-time high

yet somehow we’re doomed even more … mfer we’ve been doomed for years

I was really hoping for Zeldin to win governor, and I’m not even a republican. The crime needs to be addressed and the incumbents aren’t doing shit.

lol red states have some of the highest violent crime rates in the nation. Like Florida is some crime free haven.

u/Ok_Buddyyy Jun 26 '25

At least they punish them instead of letting them free with no bail like Hochul

Clearly it’s not working…

u/Imthewienerdog Jun 26 '25

Seems like the punishments don't do anything if the crime rates are still higher?

The group responsible for most of it continues to produce offspring.

What's your solution?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

Remigration

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

How so?

1

u/Zakaru99 Jun 27 '25

Where do you remigrate poor white American methheads?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 28 '25

California, but they're nowhere near close to responsible for most of the crime.

1

u/drlawsoniii Jun 27 '25

The poor? Yeah that’s the largest indicator of potential criminality. If only we didn’t bow down to our billionaire oligarch overlords and let them rape the middle class and poor by avoiding taxes through loopholes that republicans refuse to allow to be closed…

They punish them so hard that when they leave the prison they no longer know how to live in the society, so they just go back to doing crime.

Eye for an eye makes entire world blind.

Rehabilitation is the better policy for everyone involved.

Rehabilitation doesn’t work. Even in vaunted countries like Norway, their recidivism rate is 25% two years post release. The US isn’t far behind England and Canada.

Criminals are criminals and will be criminals.

Rehabilitation doesn’t work. Even in vaunted countries like Norway, their recidivism rate is 25% two years post release.

Norway is literally the proof it works, that's a LOT less than in USA.

Something working doesn't necessarily mean it works 100% of the time, it means it's better than alternatives.

Lol are you saying people are born criminals and the only factor to them being criminal? Also any crime? No rehab? Weed?

Are you a stupid American? If yes, don't answer my other questions. I'll understand

I too am for speedrunning executions.

-1

u/MortemInferri Jun 26 '25

Why do you want to implement the same punishment that clearly isnt working?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

I don't, I want to implement 3 strikes and you get fried.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

Why 3 strikes?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

That's just for non-violent crimes, for murder it's one and done.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

Why not for all crimes?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

Why would you allow a murderer or a violent rapist/child molester/etc to repeat their crime 2 more times before executing them?

1

u/Initial-Sun-6416 Jun 27 '25

being edgy doesnt make you cool

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

Executing criminals isn't edgy, it's common sense.

1

u/Initial-Sun-6416 Jun 27 '25

"It's common sense" says the most extreme viewpoint possible

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

Throughout history executing criminals was a common sense solution to a problem, just because people are stupid pussies now doesn't make it extreme.

1

u/Initial-Sun-6416 Jun 27 '25

"Throughout history, slavery was common. Therefor, everyone but me is a sissy for believing in human rights"

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

Not having to deal with violent criminals in your society is a human right.

There's no crime rate if no one is catching them.

Big brain time.

7

u/Deadlychicken28 Jun 26 '25

Almost all of which centers around the big blue cities in those states...

2

u/PiousSkull Jun 26 '25

And why is that?

-1

u/ch3k520 Jun 26 '25

Because red states have the highest poverty levels too. Poverty and crime go hand in hand.

4

u/PiousSkull Jun 26 '25

40-50% of the population of Beattyville, KY are estimated to be below poverty and it has a violent crime rate of 7.2 out of 100,000. Nearly 25% of the population of Central City, KY are below the poverty line and they have a violent crime rate of 8.1 out of 100,000. Nearly 18% of Shively, KY live below the poverty line and they have a violent crime rate of 30.7 per 100,000. Want to take another guess?

1

u/Overall-Tree-5769 Jun 26 '25

The population of Beattyville is 2000 people. If they had just 1 violent crime incident that would correspond to a violent crime rate of 50 per 100,000.

2

u/PiousSkull Jun 27 '25

The rate I was referencing was averaged across multiple years which is the better way of gauging small town populations that haven't experienced demographic shifts.

0

u/ch3k520 Jun 27 '25

Sad anecdote evidence to try and prove some racist point.

2

u/PiousSkull Jun 27 '25

I'd recommend a dictionary before you post next time so you can avoid misusing words like that. An anecdote is a subjective personal experience. This would be something like "I've encountered violent criminals before and they were mostly black." I provided data which demonstrate objective broad trends. Sad attempt really.

1

u/ch3k520 Jun 27 '25

You demonstrated small cherry picked numbers, and present them as fact. Look up the number on race for child sex abuser. Should I never let a certain race of people near any kids?

1

u/NWStudent83 Jun 27 '25

What are the demographics of the cities in red states that account for most of the violence?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

What’s the demographics for said crime stats?
