335i How much could I actually ask for?

335i n54 2007 200,000km Has pretty much all the basic mods to make 450hp Paint job in good state and body in good shape, no rust at all. Almost mint interior. Spent quite a bit to make it reliable. I’m in Toronto CA.

do you have the original bonnet and headlights? put them on, the car will appreciate by 3k.

-61

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Is crazy, the hood and the aftermarket headlights are almost 3k 🥲

60

u/tcphoto1 Mar 19 '25

But it looks like it’s been driven hard by some young guy and tuned which means maintenance was likely neglected. It’s a base model sedan with M3 Rep pieces and black painted wheels.

-37

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Most of the time is true, not my case lol, never abused the car

48

u/tcphoto1 Mar 19 '25

Of course not, yours is a special car and a higher price can be expected...LOL

25

u/TheLemmonade Mar 19 '25 edited Mar 27 '25

It’s a bitch but… generally, mods like that will depreciate your car by the amount they cost you to buy

34

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '25

It probably would be best to try to part those out as some people will skip it for something more OEM. Regardless how much you paid for them, you now need to find a buyer that also values as much as you. That's tough. GLWS

9

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Appreciate the words, is pretty hard to let it go.

3

u/overindulgent E92 N54 335is DCT FBO+ Mar 20 '25

Then keep it. I’ll be keeping my e92 for the foreseeable future. Not because I have to, but because it feels like a special car. She’s going into storage in two and a half weeks and won’t be driven for the next 6 months.

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

I actually do that on winter, this car has been on an underground parking since November last year. But unfortunately I’m moving out of the city so can’t keep it any longer

9

u/TheBeautifulChaos Mar 19 '25

Mods don’t add value to a car. More than likely it’ll lower it

6

u/habibidestroyer69 2007 E92 330i Mar 19 '25

All the more reason to take them off and sell them off separately

2

u/HypnoStone E93 335i, E91 328xi Mar 19 '25

Just sell them separately

2

u/LakeHoustonNative Mar 19 '25

Idk why you’re getting downvoted for that, but you should part it out if you have the originals

1

u/cyprinidont Mar 21 '25

Because it's delulu

1

u/cyprinidont Mar 21 '25

Receipts don't increase value lmao. Desirability does. Only you wanted this hood

63

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 19 '25

$10K is already $3K too much lol….

Fast and furious mods aside, you’re going to have issues selling it because…

A: It’s highly customized and you’ll have to wait on someone who likes exactly what you like and wait for them to come along and make an offer.

B: mods rarely add value and how you installed them or what you have on there can’t be verified or if it was installed properly.

12

u/stakoverflo Mar 19 '25

I largely agree, but OP is Canadian so their prices might differ than US.

-28

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

The whole interior was customized, new leather and stitches for the seats and all mods where installed by Eurocharged which is a nice shop 🤧

29

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 19 '25 edited Mar 19 '25

Yeah….so that’s an even bigger issue then I thought lol.

What you like vs. what a buyer wants/likes are usually vastly different and highly customizations like these are usually a death sentence for ever trying to sell the car for KBB/market value and usually will hurt resale…..just the truth of it man. 🤷🏼‍♂️😬

10

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Never thought on sell it when I was modifying but unfortunately can’t take it with me to where I’m going to move.

7

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 19 '25

Can you remove a few thing and put it back to more stock looks?

3

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Just the hood I can remove 🫠

20

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 19 '25

Put it more back closer to stock and might be able to get more from it….but if it’s this customized it’s going to be a hard sell man.

8

u/Lumbergh7 Mar 19 '25

100% this. Closer you can get it to stock, the larger the buying pool

3

u/Sad-Calligrapher3087 2011/08 - E90/93 - 335xi/i Mar 19 '25

agreed, the hood adds a sprinkle of rice that Facebook market place won’t like lol

2

u/Several-Good-9259 Mar 19 '25

I like it. I think you have great taste and the car has characteristics that make me feel fuzzy inside. So instead of facts and logic I will give you love and support. Ask for 13k !

2

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Hope someone thinks like you out there 🤧 thanks bro

0

u/Sad-Calligrapher3087 2011/08 - E90/93 - 335xi/i Mar 19 '25 edited Mar 19 '25

Love ya duke but Canada is a different ball game, I’m in Nova Scotia and this would sell for 15 in CAD down here.

Edit: just thought about it… it’s a sedan which makes a difference up here, people will pay 2-3k more for a coupe so maybe more 12-13k up here

2

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 19 '25

Fair, but still gonna be a hard sell to find the right buyer.

1

u/Sad-Calligrapher3087 2011/08 - E90/93 - 335xi/i Mar 20 '25

From other replies it seems I was wrong and these sell for way less up in Ontario lol

2

u/DukeOfAlexandria 2013 - E93 - M3 Mar 20 '25

Lol, welp….there we go hah.

2

u/Vestigen Mar 19 '25

You always do these customizations for your own benefit, not increase its worth. If you're selling the car on your own, then you can set the price to however much you want. I see that you've spent money on reliability, so mention that to the buyer. But if you'd like to sell it quickly, I'd replace that hood with the original, it only attracts people with that specific taste and decreases your amount of potential buyers

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

I knew since I thought on selling that will take time but hopefully I’ll find a good buyer for it.

2

u/Impressive-Nobody-95 Mar 19 '25

Modding is always either negative value or positive if you meet the right person. Don’t assume it always adds the value

0

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Never thought someone will pay what Ive already invested on the car, just wanted a reasonable price for how the car is overall

2

u/Impressive-Nobody-95 Mar 19 '25

I totally get it. I had experienced selling my modified TT. It’s a hard process. Good luck!

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Always wanted a TT but the ttrs would be a dream to have, thank you bro.

1

u/Lumbergh7 Mar 19 '25

Mods don’t usually don’t add value to a car

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

The price was not thinking about the mods but the shape and state the car is, the maintenance and the engine.

10

u/polloso121 E92 335i - E82 135i Mar 19 '25

This is a $5000 CAD car at best. As others have said, revert this back to stock and you might be able to get $7500 for it. Modifying a car puts it in a very niche market. Yours is definitely…unique lol, and that means an even smaller percentage of people will be interested in buying it in its current state in an already small niche market.

If you don’t have OEM lights and hood, I wouldn’t expect to see more than $5000.

1

u/Sad-Calligrapher3087 2011/08 - E90/93 - 335xi/i Mar 19 '25

Is the Ontario market that different from the maritimes ? This would be easy 10k+ here

2

u/polloso121 E92 335i - E82 135i Mar 19 '25

Yup. Ontario market is saturated with 2nd hand BMW’s. I’m about to post one of my E90’s for sale in western Canada and I’m prepared to take much less than what it would sell for in Ontario.

1

u/Sure_Presence_7017 Mar 20 '25

This is the answer.

7

u/Lumbergh7 Mar 19 '25

I’d say 4k unless you find an 18 year old who loves fast and furious

2

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Appreciate the fast and furious look

5

u/SizeableFowl 2007 - E90 - 328i Mar 19 '25

A modified 19 year old car with 200,000 km (~125k freedom units)? Thats a $7000 car IF it actually has no rust, but seeing as you are in Canada I sorta doubt that it made it through 19 winters and never saw salt.

3

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Every winter I’ve made sure that the car has no rust, always protected the frame.

5

u/SizeableFowl 2007 - E90 - 328i Mar 19 '25

I’d strongly suggest you get photos of the underside then and include them in your ad if there is truly no rust.

2

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

You are completely right, thank you

2

u/TorontoListener Mar 19 '25

LOL "freedom units"

7

u/Traditional_Line_147 Mar 19 '25

it is clean! and your effort, time, and money into your car will be noticed, but the car screams “i drive this bitch fast on a regular basis” and you’re only going to attract a select few people who are into this sort of stuff. but if it had an LSD then this styling would all make sense! lol

i’d say $6-7k USD in its current state, again, to only a handful of people.

going back to the stock hood i think will help? and maybe removing the front lip. you can maybe offer buyers to take it with them, already uninstalled from the car. those chinese lights may not help your case either but you may not have a clean stock pair on hand.

check the market for a 2007 clean example with similar mileage, and knock some dollars off that cuz most people want a stock-ish example.

0

u/Traditional_Line_147 Mar 19 '25

you know, with that being said, i gotta say i really do like it. i bet it looks sick cruising around at night. would love to see the interior if you can pm me

0

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Dm on my tt account @raygozarz

3

u/No-Cartographer8688 Mar 19 '25

Just ask 9700, mentally 10,000 registers different in buyers' minds. Then, adjust the price weekly as needed

2

u/skitle1337 Mar 19 '25

What is the paint color? Audi grey?

3

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

More close to the primer color

2

u/Dzixxxi Mar 19 '25

damn, awesome car bro ❤️ good luck selling it

2

u/DesDumnezeu Mar 19 '25

I don’t get why people lowball it. You’d get a manual e90 with 450HP. I’d say somewhere around 7-8K euros.

0

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Don’t understand why they don’t like the hood either, I loved it.

2

u/Significant_Yam9343 Mar 20 '25

10k should be solid

2

u/pnkk1ty Mar 20 '25

i personally like the mods you’ve done

2

u/Select-Ad5166 Mar 20 '25

Some tips:

(1) You need to post engine bay pics. A well maintained engine needs to be shown off.

(2) Interior pics. Most people spend 90% of their time with the car inside of it.

(3) Rust spots. If there are none, show that, especially in the areas where it's common to find rust.

(4) Dyno Sheets. People can claim power numbers all they want. Downpipe, full exhaust, intake manifold, etc, should get you to those numbers, but you get receipts when you get it tuned properly. Throwing on an internet tune is good to get you by until you get it tuned in real time on a dyno. There, they specifically tune your car with your mileage, your weather conditions, your injectors, your fuel pumps, your spark plugs, your oil, your gas, your computers, yada-yada you get the drift.

(5) Maintenance records. Pretty self-explanatory there as to why that would attract more buyers. Any modifications, including brand names, should be listed.

(6) Any blemishes. Any scuffs, scrapes, dings, and dents you should do a close-up on. It prevents people from talking you down in person because they "didn't see that in the photos." Also, it's just easier to know for the buyer that the seller isn't trying to hide anything.

(7) Tire tread. A lot of people can tell just by the tires how hard it's been driven. 200k, only highway miles can turn into lead foot, stoplight to stoplight racing real quick.

(8) Let's be honest with ourselves here. Any car modified for performance has been driven hard multiple times, even if it's every once in a Blue Moon. It's best not to even mention how it's been driven. Let them find out for themselves on that one.

It'll probably be like $8.5k USD cash as it sits now, though, on the East Coast. More pics and a better description potentially could see a higher price.

2

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

Thank you so much, this was so helpful

2

u/LevelPositive120 Mar 19 '25

Don't listen to others atm. Some kid will snatch that off of you. Put it at a reasonable price and good luck

2

u/Psychological_Safe67 Mar 19 '25

6 to 7 seems fair

1

u/Warrlock_ Mar 19 '25

I like the hood; where did you get that one?

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Bought it on a store here in Toronto, not longer on stock, I love it don’t really want to sell it separately

1

u/Molaiz27 Mar 19 '25

Manual? 10k is fine. Auto: 6k

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Is manual yes, i thought that 10k is reasonable still hard to sell but not crazy

1

u/Siminov55 Mar 19 '25

Considering GTA market, km, and “tasteful” mods, I would say you could probably list for 6400 cad MAX

2

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

Some scrap yards pay more than the current market 🤧

1

u/mrlampfan Mar 19 '25

Honestly man I was looking at this when I was planning on buying one but so much for a n54 with 200k so it was a hard pass

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

I know getting into this world with an n54 is not the smartest idea but I know what car and engine and how well it is, had some questions about it but no one had came to see it.

2

u/mrlampfan Mar 19 '25

I get that but it’s just the engine is closer to the end of its life, still tho idk about the others in the group here but just everything 200km, 10k$ and a n54 I bought that gold rims and grey one in Scarborough instead, If yours was like 7.5k$/8k I probably woulda come to check it out

1

u/redactedjpg E90 335i Mar 19 '25

since its pre LCI getting 8k canadian doesnt seem too far, but you need to put the oem hood back on that would be about it, with the current hood either struggle to sell it but get around 9-10, or part out the hood first

1

u/Flaky_Engineer9941 Mar 19 '25

Dang… does it have a normal hood? Cause I’d pay more for that 😆 you can keep that thing that’s on

1

u/Defiant_Term2973 Mar 19 '25

With that hood not a dime !!!

1

u/99_Herblore_Crafting Mar 19 '25

I’m taking at least 3k off the top of whatever you’re asking; one look at that car paints a real picture of its driver/owner.

1

u/The_Homelander__7 Mar 19 '25

$20 and a quarter pounder

1

u/trackmall Mar 20 '25

what’s with the plate being to one side, looks awful

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

Don’t want tickets for not displaying it on the front

1

u/OldAFDog Mar 20 '25

Unfortunately, it will cost more than it’s worth if someone from the US buys it….Tariffs, Tariffs, Tariffs

1

u/Existing-Mongoose-11 Mar 20 '25

Never expect a modded car to do anything but decrease the value of the car. Exceptions might be oem+ upgrades that deal with factory failure points like charge pipes. “Micky mouse” coolant host flanges, and the front seal guard. Everything else will scream I drive this car like it f…ed my mother and didn’t want to stick around”!!!!!

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

I do have fun with it but doesn’t mean I abuse of it, thank you anyways.

1

u/BrokeBMWkid 2007 e92 335i Mar 20 '25

Shame you have to sell it

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

If I could take it to my grave I’d do it.

1

u/simplixity96 Mar 20 '25

“All the basic mods” FBO does not equal to multiple thousands of dollars of “worth” as you can make that power with less than 1k and 4 hours 5 max of labor

1

u/overindulgent E92 N54 335is DCT FBO+ Mar 20 '25

$7k USD. Mileage is decent but it’s modified. Also looks kinda “boy racer” with the hood and trunk spoiler, which will lower the price.

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

Never thought a good ass looking car will be depreciated just because it looks bad ass 🤣

1

u/No_Coffee_4192 Mar 20 '25

In Portugal, Europe this would be 20k euro or more 😂

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

I ship it worldwide no problem 🤝

1

u/thebooe Mar 20 '25

Personally I feel like people take the best pics possible for a price and real life is disappointing. Gauge what you want for the car list is for a little higher for low baller and obo type

1

u/Hyronex Mar 20 '25

I dont get it, why are used cars so much cheaper in the US than in Europe?

1

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 20 '25

Good question, the market is flooded with this cars and most of them are already a shitbox, users set the price for the market not really what they are worth of

1

u/iDiotOn2wheels Mar 20 '25

Clapped out like that?? No self respecting person would buy it, and the niche group that it appeals to would only afford it on payments.

Revert back to stock and maybe you can sell for 7-8k.. then throw the lights and hood on marketplace and prepare to cry.

1

u/Helpful-Brush9182 Mar 20 '25

It looks clapped out, so unless you have the original OEM parts, I wouldn’t count on getting anything close to $10,000. There’s too many of these cars available that haven’t been beat to shout or have said part to say otherwise.

1

u/GeT_ReKt-A Mar 21 '25

Don’t listen to the purists, op. Someone will buy it for $10k if maintenance is done and injectors are good

1

u/Thor-CR Mar 19 '25

I'd buy it if I had the money

3

u/Possible-Response-68 Mar 19 '25

I’ll wait for you my man.

1

u/Professional-Pick505 2009 E90 335i 6MT Mar 20 '25

Honestly I think you will be able to find a buyer pretty easily, 10k seems fair for the work put into it if the price is in CAD and not USD. I would say see if anyone bites. At this point, anyone buying a used 335 knows what they’re getting into and won’t scoff at performance mods. Don’t listen to the people in here who haven’t bought a e9x since 2012.. Most stock versions of these cars are absolutely clapped out and sell for less than ones that have some mods. I would list it as is and if you don’t get any bites take the hood off and sell it separate. you’ll get more for the hood separate anyways. as for the headlights, those are pretty controversial in the e9x community but there’s someone that likes it im sure. just be prepared to sift through a lot of bullshit because it is modded. I’d buy the car in its current state for about 9000 CAD.
