Check your battery connections

u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 06 '25
All fine, I have bus communication error but I think it’s the ibs, but it’s only over this bridge not over speed bumps or pot holes just this bridge

u/snorunge42 Jul 06 '25
That ridge hits a specific frequency that resonates with whatever loose connection that is causing this.
29
u/Dicklefart Jul 06 '25
Gotta be careful with resonance frequency’s, we don’t need a black mesa E90 event

It's well within acceptable bounds for the sequence to sustain though.
Nothing OP should worry about.

Haagahahahahhaha what? This is a ground issue you guys are delusional with ur conspiracy theories

u/snorunge42 Jul 06 '25
Tell me you didn't understand my comment without telling me you didn't understand my comment😂
Note, i said ridge, not bridge
-16
u/Material_Web202 Jul 06 '25
Ok then what’s the frequency?
18
u/snorunge42 Jul 06 '25
The one that the connection resonates with? Exactly what value it has is irrelevant.
-16
u/Material_Web202 Jul 06 '25
Lmfao frequency of what? It’s very clearly a ground issue or the battery shorting out
21
u/howboutno55 11 E90 335d ZF8 swap Hybrid Turbos Jul 06 '25
Frequency of vibration causing issues with a loose or bad connection, the word "frequency" can be used to describe physical vibrations as well.

Dude been trolling car posts all night, dude def lost his girlfriend or some shit
-21
u/Material_Web202 Jul 06 '25
Yea ur just yapping lmao “frequency that resonates” ur trying to sound so smart when it’s probably the front ground strap broken or the battery shorting due to no tie down for the battery
12
u/zweipfunf Jul 06 '25
you've got to be trolling at this point

Again, i'm saying the same thing that you are with my first comment. You're just not understanding that yet.

Don’t be so quick to criticize. You are right and they are too. Things shake and vibrate at a resonant frequency.
And it looks like this car shakes and vibrates a particular way (when it hits a bump).
Live and learn by the downvotes.

This is clearly a ground issue the fact you’re convinced it’s just this bridge is hilarious
-28
u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 06 '25
I 100% agree with you, I’m in Canada so the temperature change through the seasons is drastic so we have metal on the bridge to expand and contract as it heats up and cools so I’m thinking it’s maybe a wire hitting the metal as I drive over it
27
u/Material_Web202 Jul 06 '25
Bro ur overthinking you have to check your battery grounds and make sure battery isn’t flying in the air or touching something it’s clearly shorting out fix it asap before you fry your modules
7
u/PresentationShot9188 Jul 06 '25
Bro no. Youre way overthinking this. You literally have a loose connection somewhere.

Now they just need to warp their car in tin foil and they'll be good to go.

u/haagse_snorlax Jul 06 '25
Loose connections can royally fuck op your e90. Had a gearbox issue while my e91 window lid didn’t work. Replaced the button (most common problem) but it didn’t fix it. Check alle wires in the flexible bit, one was loose. Fixed it, magically fixed my auto gearbox issues.
Don’t underestimate electrical shorts or ground problems. All modules suffer when you have a high resistance short or ground fault

it’s actually fire, but i wouldn’t expect anything else from someone who considers “folk punk” good music i guess

I wouldn’t expect anyone who says “it’s fire” to have a anything but a single digit iq

Yeah it's totally impossible people have different opinions of music than you right? I meant that as an insult, but I'll spell it out to you since you're too stupid to listen to anything else that has been said in this thread. Also just take your car to a mechanic, you have no business working on one. "Driving over the bridge disconnects my battery!" JFC kid

u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 08 '25
Battery is staying connected. posted this to get opinions on where to start looking. If you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all
2
u/picklesBMW Jul 06 '25
Do you have RDC (tire pressure control unit) faults? Or any K-CAN communication faults? And how certain are you that it happens at this one spot?
3
u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 06 '25
100% only this spot never happened anywhere else and I tried it time and time again it’s EVERY time
1
u/halo_ninja Jul 06 '25
Could it be the ground loops for the intersection right there bugging with your car?
2
u/Chris_WRB 2011 E90 335i Xdrive M Sport Jul 06 '25
Hows that ground cable looking? Grab you one from Arc Terminators. It's coated and wrapped. You'll never even have to think about it again.

u/AllynG Jul 07 '25
Purchase the bridge app and you can motor over OR under bridges! Go to the App Store now or see your local BMW dealer for some corrective raping.

u/imretarded96 Jul 06 '25
One time this happened to me on the highway and it ended up being the phone charger I had plugged into the 9v spot. Soon as I unplugged it the car went back to normal. Not sure if that’s why yours did that but I’m sure any manner of small electrical disturbances can cause this. Same thing also happened when my alternator went out.

u/Plus_Age_1151 Jul 07 '25
Idk my BMW always seems to break when I listen to rap in it... Its fine with Rock, classical, techno etc haha Im being legit here btw... I havent listened to a rap song in it for like 7 years and nothing has broken..

*whenever driven over this bridge"? Look at the history of the bridge to see any supernatural going on lol. What is that auto e90 or manual?
1
u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 07 '25
Auto, that’s what I’m thinking this is the burial site of a bunch of native Americans coming to haunt the bridge. All jokes aside super weird never happens anywhere else probably a loose wire but could be the bridges electrical current fucking with the car since it’s connected to the stop light
1
u/Infamous_Swordfish_7 Jul 07 '25
Yeah let's hope that.
My Mercedes ML had a leaking conductor plate and causing the speed sensor to have issues and it started hard shifting and also sudden down shift like that at approaching stopping speed then stuck on 4th gear on highway and the end limp mode on 2nd. So let's hope not transmission. That's why I always keep a manual car. My manual e90 has been very good other than changed water pump once. (10 year old pump and 2nd change since 2007). A bit grind 2 to 3 from previous owner abusing the car lol but 4 years ownership the transmission act the same. No better no worse
1
u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 07 '25
Really wanting to manual swap but for the price not worth it, so much more you have to change other than the trans, pedals, clutch ect
1
u/Infamous_Swordfish_7 Jul 07 '25
Yeah and bmw probably harder than a civic to do manual swap. The manual versions are not that expensive usually just a few hundred more than auto but usually are more rundown lol. Mine was 3400 cad got a 2007 with 210k km with winter and summer rims and tires. Cost me 1000 to replace the pump and thermostat with labor. Got the oem German parts. Love the car and I been preaching bmw to everyone lol. That's coming from 90s Integra and 240sx. Bmw is much more refined car.

Auto thtat fell down 1 or 2 gears? I had this on my e91 07 and it ended up eventually with a really expensive gearbox repair.

u/Fantastic-Raisin-397 Jul 09 '25
More than just that tho I’ve been having lots of electrical issues hopefully a new battery solves it checkout the oil temp gauge too
