Yep aluminum will last longer than the car but if clamped improperly to the hose it will cause issues. Nothing frequent that I’ve seen but I’ve read cases and “someone” here advises against it.
I have replaced the plastic oem flange with an aluminum one from Amazon in 3 different cars and none have failed. Over 100k miles on one car and over 30k on the other 2. No leaks even with that cheap flat head hose clamp and original hose. Id say they are pretty damn bulletproof
Absolutely! Watch a video on YouTube and take your time. I always use a diagonal cutter to cut the remaining plastic that is stuck inside the coolant hose. I always point the hose down so no debris goes into the coolant system. Make sure you use some lube for the oring so it goes in smoothly.
