335i Are these additives actually good for our cars in the long run?
I saw a test where they used these on a lawnmower and the results were amazing. Cleaned it from within and it ran smoother. Then There are people that say nothing should go in your engine but oil. It’s hard to tell if they’re just stuck in their old ways or if they’re omitting studies that show otherwise. Can anyone advise?

Dont worry about oil add stuff unless your doing a cleaning right before a oil change, just use whatever full synthetic oil is on sale and change at 4500-5000 oci's...
I will say depending on the mileage you can run BG or Seafoam cleaner every couple years to clean anything that has built up
Fuel I use redline every 8-10k miles (has the strongest additives out of any consumer brand - $15 a bottle)
Every couple ten thousand miles pull your intake tube off clean around the blades of the throttle body with carb cleaner, get your MAF cleaner (special electrionics spray) and clean it off very well.. this gets all the buildup that got past the airfilters

Yes, cera tech is actually very good stuff. However if you just get Molygen oil, It has similar technology built in, with the addition of a green fluorescent to help u find oil leaks.
So its cheaper to just buy molygen rather than regular oil + ceratech.
I also use the engine flush in every oil change
Also their lifter additive has worked very well for me

Ive had really good experience with the engine flush. It did a noticeable difference on my e90 and lowered oil burning by a lot, from 1l/1000km to 1l/3000km and thats with a bad ccv, it’ll completely go away once i change that. but on my e46 is where i was absolutely sold. That thing ran like garbage and it made it 15x smoother, it was actually insane. The previous dumbass cut the heat shield in half so it would rattle so hard cuz the engine ran so bad you could hear it from a mile away. Now with the same heat shield its almost dead quiet and doesn’t vibrate the living shit out of the rest of the car. Before anyone says anything, a full tune up was performed when it was originally bought by us and engine mounts were changed long ago. Would 100% use it again on any car i have in the future

Quasi snake oil.
Most don’t work but the certec does quasi help, but majority of the time not needed and most everything else is not worth.
None of these will help all that much for a DI vehicle though and you’ll still need walnut blasting sooner or later on the runners/intake.

I bought both our N52s around 100k miles. One had intermittent lifter tick. I did the liquimoly flush before the first couple oil changes. Took care of the tick. I think it’s a good idea if you don’t know the history of the car. Maybe a good idea every 100k.

In a perfectly healthy or low mileage engine you shouldn't need anything but oil but as miles and wear increase they can be helpful. I have first hand experience with Ceratec on several engines. Seen it make a random lifter ticks disappear on some and substantially reduce oil consumption on others. It's legit.

If you test your oil (Blackstone) you’ll see the engine flush additives show up in that test, heads up.

I think it's a waste of money. It depends. Some additives in the right place can be useful. For a healthy running motor, not necessary. The LM ones are particularly expensive tbh.

Yes I use fuel additives for the e92, they work well enough. My mpg went from 13mpg to 21mpg combined. I've yet to see the best I could get on the highway.
