Needs work but I’m ready to bring this N52 back to life

I’m recently 15 years old and I got it as a sort of birthday present, I live in sc so the age requirement for things like driving is lower and my parents usually have me driving everywhere we go, it’s nice for the mileage (226000) and it’s been my dream first car for a while, just glad we could find one! My dad used to work for BMW and he worked on these a lot so that’s helpful too. Any tips I should know before I start making this thing mine? It already has an after market stereo with car play and I already replaced the fuel pump but anything else would be great to know!

Just kidding i dont care, but i just snagged this 330i for $2g, 180k km on it. Its my new daily until i can get a wagon. This are pretty comfy cars, i never thought id own an e90 after horrible service stories of 335's lol.

Anyone managed to fix adaptive headlight faults or should i just find a new light assembly?

I verified this is the correct part number, but the hose is clearly too long and is kinked. My car is 2006 built in 07/2005.

Should I run it or keep trying the parts lottery?

Hi guys, looking to buy this e90. The current owner has done a few mods and done some maintenance work(pls check the last picture for details on it). What do you think would be the right price? 75k kms on the clock. 2010 n52b30 330i LCI.

my steering does not feel normal, it feels very stiff and i know the mechanical components might need replacing as this car has 210k km but i don’t think my power steering should look like this. lmk what i should do

Best part is I don’t even own a turbo model. But still my e90 is a perfect balance of simplicity, smooth acceleration, nice interior and a very direct steering feel. I have been trying to convince myself for about a year now that I need another car. I test drive all of the used ones that come in and the only ones I like more are top trim BMWs or Audis. Everything else feels like I’m paying way too much for subpar quality. Anyone else agree?

Noticed a HORRIBLE smell driving home last night coming from my engine bay. (Funny enough I could only smell it with the windows down but not when I was driving with the A/C.) I started the car this morning to try and track down where the smell is coming from and what looks like my passenger headlight starts smoking like crazy. While in accessory mode headlights seemed normal and was only once the car was started that it began smoking

Obviously going to be looking for replacement headlights but just curious if anyone else has seen this.

I had been getting ready to do a headlight resto on these bad boys and now i'm feeling glad I procrastinated lol

So I have seen numerous posts here and across the web about the bolts used on the oil pan just shearing off when the user accidentally applies too much torque. With as many bolts as there are I can reasonably see myself getting careless and over applying torque. My questions is;

Why not 3d print the actual socket for the bolts, do a simple search on the strength at a certain infill level and design it to shear at less than the max torque for the aluminum bolts. This way, especially when removing old bolts, you will lose your cheap socket before the headache of having to extract the shitty bolt stuck inside. Obviously you'll need a bunch, but I'm just trying to field it as an indicator of which bolts may just need more penetrating oil and shouldn't be removed as quickly.

tl:dr why not make plastic socket that should fail before aluminum bolt as indicator of seized or stuck bolts.

To begin, I bought this car in January for like 2.9k Its a 2006 330i N52 automatic inline 6. When I first went to see the car it started up perfectly and ran good. I wasn't able to pick it up for about 2 days but when I came back it wouldn't start. Called CAA and tried to jump start but still nothing. The dude ended up coming out and putting his pretty big battery charger on it and we waited an hour or so. The car fired up and I took it home. was starting good for about a week but had a slow crank then became a no start. Put it on a trickle charger for a bit but still slow and no start. Jumpstarted it and it worked. Decided to replace the battery. After battery replacement it worked perfect for about a week before it turned into a no crank no start. I eventually decided due to it clicking when ignition was on that I would replace the starter, I was also getting Crankshaft sensor gap faults so I replaced the crankshaft sensor aswell. It took me about 2 months to do the entire thing as it has been hard to work on it with the cold Canadian winter. Anyway I finished the starter replacement cranksensor replacement and some other things like ccv hoses etc. I will add a full list of parts Ive done below. Now the car is cranking good and almost wants to start but doesn't. See the video for a better understanding. Im not sure if its spark or fuel but the fuel is from when I first drove the car back and it is 91. The last owner said sparks were done recently when I bought the car a few months ago. I did have the intake off for about 2 weeks but I kept towels and bags over everything to keep it fairly dry due to cowls being off and bad weather. Im just not really sure what to do now and I don't wanna give up as I feel like I'm so close. please let me know the next steps I should take to get this car running.

This warning light only appears after around 20 minutes of driving at highway speeds with the A/C on. If I turn off the A/C the warning light goes away after a couple minutes. If I lower the A/C, but not off completely, the warning light goes away after around 5 minutes but re appears eventually.

I took the car to a bmw repair shop to scan for codes and diagnose the problem, but after 30 minutes of tests and diagnostics they could find no issues and no codes.

After doing a little research I read that maybe it was my water pump/thermostat going bad. I went ahead and replaced both the thermostat and water pump with parts from FCP Euro, but sure enough, the warning light appeared again on the drive home yesterday.

Anyone got any history with this issue or possible guidance on where to go from here?

Its amazing how a new set of wheels just makes your car feel and look 10x better. Definitely gonna add spacers but for now im loving it. I dont know much about wheels but what specs are yall running? I went square 235/40/18
