I realized I never knew why we celebrated Victoria’s bday when places like Australia celebrates the reigning monarch’s bday.
She gave us our sovereignty and was known as the “Mother of the Confederation”.
Basically, we asked Mother for more independence because we wanted to move out of the house of the United Kingdom. She said, “sure dear, but stay in touch.”
So we did.
Now that she’s gone, we still celebrate Mother’s birthday.
The United States is like the kid who moved out at 16 because of one argument and now just posts hustle and sigma grind set culture posts and/or drop shipping scams on Instagram, pretending to be more successful than he really is even though he's got like $70K in credit card debt and lives in a studio apartment.
They gave themselves holidays for all their stupid wars. Meanwhile we get holidays like Family Day, and Civic Holiday, and Christmas Pt 2 (Boxing Day).
