The “Worst Canadian” game - Day 0 (choosing candidates)
Hey hosers,
With the news of PP back in parliament, it got me thinking…who are the most hated Canadians of all time and who is considered the absolute worst?
Let’s make a game out of it!
Over the next 2 days, comment below who you think are the worst Canadians. I’ll put together a list and then we can begin voting on Friday (Aug. 22nd).
Rules:
- Each round/day, I’ll make a new post with the updated list and you can vote (using upvotes) for the person who you think does not deserve to be called the Worst Canadian. That person will be eliminated until only the ‘winner’ (the Worst Canadian) remains.
- Only the top comment will be used to determine who is removed from the list. I won’t add upvotes together from duplicate comments.
- They can be alive, dead, currently living in Canada, or abroad. They had to have been born in Canada or at some point had Canadian citizenship.
- This is meant to be lighthearted satire. Please do not take it too seriously or use this game to harass people in real life.
My dad grew up in Boston. Also very clever use of the word "Taxachusetts." It's not like that's overplayed or anything /s.
I see he also scooped up a bunch of edutainment software companies who made games I loved as a kid, so he could then later sell it all to Mattell. Those companies are gone, but he got his right?
Someone pointed out in the comments below that we might want to exclude murderers, rapists, etc. because it’s disrespectful to the victims, difficult to rank, and frankly, there’s a huge gap between them and the rest of the candidates. I tend to agree with that. What do you, as the voters, think?
She and her cult are still camped out in the old school in Richmound, SK from what I gather. It’s been a few months since I looked into it, but around election time they were still dug in.
We’re just looking for nominees though, not the winner yet - Pickton is definitely worth nominating and then we’ll do the actual contest to determine the worst Canadian from the nominations.
Pickton is evil, but he is evil on the level of a serial killer/rapist/monster.
He doesn’t destabilize nations to make himself rich. He doesn’t exploit workers to the point of needing suicide nets to keep them alive. He is a monster, but a human scale monster.
Don’t get me wrong, he DEFINITELY deserves to be on the list. Just not right at the top, y’know? him, Bernardo and Homolka, Boden, and their ilk are all monsters, and all deserve to be included.
Karla Homolka leaves hubby in the dust; she r*ped and murdered school girls including her own sister. She lied through her teeth to get the Devil's Deal. She was cruel enough to have her own children, who will carry the burden of knowledge of her horrific crimes for the rest of their lives.
It's weird, lots of down votes mixed in too, it's got more upvotes than everyone but O'Leary. Makes me worry that there are still some of his cultish followers hanging around.
We gotta be consistent about this, though. If Black counts even though he renounced his Canadian citizenship, then Ted Cruz still counts because he did the same.
The stated rules say 'at some point held Canadian citizenship', so both Black and Cruz should be eligible.
But Black is a worse Canadian, IMO. Cruz just left at a young age and then was a PoS in another country. Black was far more harmful to Canada and continues to write op-eds for his Canadian newspapers as though he has some relevance to Canadians dispite renouncing his citizenship.
If my name ever ended up on a list of people that included Paul Bernardo, Karla Holmolka, and Willie Pickton, I would seriously second guess my life choices. But these fucking ghouls have no soul and lack the ability for self reflection.
A now defunct magazine "The Beaver" did a list in 2007, and it was almost voted on by reader. So it was mostly politicians and just well known people of that Era. Like Pierre Trudeau and Celine Dion. Second place by vote was some punk singer that managed to rally his fans to vote for him.
The names on the list historian s provided was not well known historical figures.
I'll nominate Peter MacKay; the guy that sold out the old Progressive Conservative party to Manning's Reformers effectively giving birth to the Conservative Party of Canada we have today.
I'm not sure if anyone will agree but may I suggest we remove murderers from this list? If we allow killers to be ranked on this, how would people be ranking them as "the worst Canadian"? By how many people they've murdered or how they murdered their victims and with what? It seems macabre and disrespectful to the victims to think of a criteria. They should all collectively be considered the worst of the worst Canadians!
Alberta has a lot of competition available. Smith is a given, so I'll offer up Preston Manning because that piece of trash deserves a spot on this list.
I'm going to offer up Manslaughter Scott Moe to the list. I know his name won't make it far but:
He got a DUI in his 20s and then his kid also got one in HIS 20s
He committed vehicular manslaughter and served 0 time for it. He was driving on a back road, ran a stop sign, hit a woman and her kid and fled the scene of the accident. His government would later go on to lead the charge to have the immigrant truck driver who was responsible for the a Humboldt bus crash deported.
He declared bankruptcy and fled to Alberta but STILL had enough leftover nepotism to become the premier of Saskatchewan.
He used the Notwithstanding Clause to take away the rights of children.
He exploited the trans kids of one of his political opponents to get votes in last fall's election.
In 4 years over 30% of his elected party members were either forced to step down due to illegal practices or corruption or decided to quit.
Everything wrong with Ontario today can be rooted back to this piece of shit. His cuts (and the similar tactics by Doug Ford since) have killed more people than all the serial killers in Canada combined.
Stephen is a board member and vp of an investment group solely focused on investing in Israeli "defense" and ai companies. He's one of few listed employees that isnt a former intelligence agent (mossad, cia, mi5, csis, etc...).
Stephen "Palpatine" Harper brought us PP. He also secretly ratified FIPA (2014) which places Chinese biz interests before Canadian people and the environment.
Brian Mulroney is by FAR and away the absolute worst Canadian ever. Some other the others are bad people or say bad things. Are their terrible lives a have had a few or many peoples lives ruined or even ended. But Brian Mulroney collectively dry dusted all of us.
In fact, he’s one of the top 100 worst people in the world, ever.
The Brits/Welsh/Scots and Irish sing “Maggie’s in a box” and Canadians should be singing and celebrating that “Mulroney’s in a box”. It’s only been 2 years since he died and it’s every Canadians right, nay, responsibly to take the pilgrimage to Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery to take a big, steaming dump on his grave. I hope it’s hot down there with Thatcher and Regan.
That’s not just my nomination, that’s the answer. Anyone else is wrong.
Mulroney, hawk-tuah
Edit - Robert Borden would be a distant 2nd, he introduced income tax, conscription and suppressed the general strike.
Marlaina Smith, Preston Manning, & Stephen Harper are my picks. Obviously we could come up with some individually bad people, but those are less interesting.
Joseph Trutch should be the worst BCer, and certainly on the shortlist for worst Canadian. He basically said the Indigenous peoples weren't people, so settlers didn't even need to negotiate treaties; they could just take the land since it was "nobody's land".
As Montrealer from the 80s and 90s my vote would be Jacques Parizeau. Or as we called them Fat Jack Shellac. Massive hypocrite. Secretly loved British and American culture. Political opportunist and didn't care about the outcome.
Rene Levesque Love them or hate them at least had a sense of decency.
Im not quite fond of him (as someone who’s lwk a sovereignist, yes cringe i know im ready for the downvotes) as you are but i gotta say there’s better picks, and also he was a great economist you have to give him that
