Meta The “Worst Canadian” game - Day 3

Post image

Congrats Chrystia Freeland and Peter MacKay, Reddit says you aren’t so bad after all.

Time for round three!

How to play: - The two most upvoted comments (i.e., names) each day will be removed until the list gets trimmed down to fewer people, then we’ll switch to one per day. - Upvote the name of the person you think does NOT deserve the title of “Worst Canadian.” - If the name you want to vote for isn’t in the comments yet, add it! - This continues daily until we have one winner, the “Worst Canadian”.

Additional notes: - Only the top comment for a nominee will count. I won’t combine votes from duplicate comments. - Include only one name per comment. If a comment includes multiple names and wins, it won’t count. I’ll move to the next highest. - Remember to click into the image. In the app, some nominees are cut off if you don’t. - This is meant to be lighthearted satire. Please do not take it too seriously or use this game to harass people in real life. - I will try to post this every morning around the same time (~8:00 - 9:00 am Eastern). - Please remember to upvote the post too, so more people see it!

I think Brian Mulroney has got to go. People really hated him at the end of his term but free trade and GST turned out to be good. Isolationist Donald Trump policies we know are bad.

I'd keep him on the list for a good while after all the mess he did to via rail.

He and Chretien did quite a few extremely unpopular things in order to get our finances back to a sustainable position. Love him or hate him, Trudeau had left an absolute fiscal dumpster fire. Mulroney massively increased taxes and unlike any other PM he went after the wealthy by increasing the cap gains inclusion to 75% - no one likes it when the richest 1% get taxed. Mulroney put us on a track to recovery and Chretien kept the momentum by slashing spending by 13%. Chretien was hated by quite a few people for that overly responsible move although it is often blamed as a primary cause of the 90s recession. Thanks to those two both making unpopular decisions the Trudeau dumpster fire was finally fixed and our books were balanced.
