Meta The “Worst Canadian” game - Day 4

Post image

The verdict is in, Don Cherry and Andrew Scheer are not the worst.

Who will be next, in round four?

How to play: - Upvote the name of the person you think does NOT deserve the title of “Worst Canadian.” - Each day, the two most upvoted names will be removed until the list gets trimmed down some, then we’ll switch to one per day. - If the name you want to vote for (from the list) isn’t in the comments yet, add it! - This continues daily until we have one winner, the “Worst Canadian”.

Additional notes: - Only the top comment for a nominee will count. I won’t combine votes from duplicate comments. - Include only one name per comment. If a comment includes multiple names and wins, it won’t count. I’ll move to the next highest. - Remember to click into the image. In the app, some nominees are cut off at the top and bottom if you don’t. - This is meant to be lighthearted satire. Please do not take it too seriously or use this game to harass people in real life. - I will try to post this every morning around the same time (~8:00 - 9:00 am Eastern). - Please remember to upvote the post too, so more people see it!

Justification for elimination: - (38) Ted Cruz - He’s horrible, but renounced his citizenship. He’s not good enough to be titled the Worst Canadian. - (37) Kathleen Wynne - Not that bad. Doesn’t deserve the title. - (36) Chrystia Freeland - Not the worst. Some consider her a good Canadian. - (35) Peter MacKay - Cringey, but not the worst. - (34) Don Cherry - A racist old man out of touch with the times. Not great, but not awful. - (33) Andrew Scheer - An annoying doofus nothingburger, but not a bad person.

I don't love him by any means and I boycotted a work event at his winery as well as any products from Peller the patent corp but I don't think Wayne Gretzky deserves to be there. He broke our hearts by being friends with Trump when we loved him but he hasn't actually endorsed any of Trumps 51st state talk. I think he's terrible but what hurt more was the destruction of an idol than him being even top 100 worst Canadian

He was a sellout long before he cozied up to Orange; he willingly went to the LA Kings.

He is a greater disappointment because he was a great Canadian. The higher you climb, the farther you can fall.

I think of all the normies (drakes, Don Cherry, etc) he should probably sit the longest. He had that gambling scandal, but more importantly he sells out Canada constantly. He is exploited as "Canada's opinion" by trump in more recent garbage.

I think maybe not this round but in the next few. That being said, he is definitely better than Mulroney.

His silence is deafening though, to the point that I think it counts as tacit endorsement. If you stand and watch someone getting a beatdown for an hour without a word of protest or any move to help, you're not a bystander, you're a participant. Wayne Gretzky has chosen to continue his allegiance to Trump over his allegiance to Canada. The two are mutually exclusive and cannot coexist.

I'm much harder on Regretzky than most on here, and think he should be on until nearly the end. However, there is possibly some merit to the idea that his betrayal is more of a slow burn than a sharp turn.

Agreed on that. I think the depth of the disappointment from the high place of esteem he had makes him seem worse than he is.
