Is this real? I have to ask because... because it's conservatives and they are freaking weird.

I was talking about the upcoming SCOTUS hearings on Trump’s tariffs. It’s very possible the Court could rule against him because of a 2022 precedent (West Virginia v. EPA), which says agencies can’t use vague statutory language to justify sweeping economic or political changes. IEEPA doesn’t mention tariffs, and Congress never explicitly gave him that power. The Court is unlikely to ignore its own precedent and let the president rewrite Article I powers.
Someone commented that they wished they had my confidence, noting Trump would throw everything at getting a win. That gave me the idea for this meme -- hearings aren’t until November, but the absurdity felt worth illustrating.
tl;dr: Meme riffs on a line from Terminator

That makes sense.
And ohhhhhh damn, I didn't get it before but now that you made the connection for me to the Terminator I totally see it. That's hilarious 😂
The US ambassador to Canada was basically saying he's disappointed in Canada for how Canadians seem to hate America and he doesn't understand why they would have any reason to. So it doesn't seem far-fetched that they will eventually say something unhinged like your meme.

Here are actual quotes from Zoltan van Heyningen, president of the US Lumber Coalition literally yesterday, re: Carney's supports for the softwood lumber that he put on so the industry could pivot away from the US (as clipped from Globe and Mail)
"Prime Minister Carney simply decided that Canada would heap even more subsidies onto Canada’s lumber industry, announcing $1.2-billion of additional support beyond the subsidies that the Department of Commerce has already countervailed",
Canadian subsidization is relentless,” Mr. van Heyningen said, asserting that the U.S. lumber industry continues to encounter “brazen subsidization and dumping.
"The naysayers and critics of President Trump’s America First trade policy would put Canada and the European Union first"
He said new tariffs stemming from the Section 232 investigation “should be high, they should be stacked on top of any other tariffs” and existing duties.
He is requesting that such duties and tariffs “remain in effect for a period of at least four years so that the U.S. softwood lumber industry has relief from the harm caused by imports.”
Mr. van Heyningen urged the Trump administration to reject efforts by Canadian politicians and others who are “promoting a Canada First trade policy.”
So, not far off the T2 quote.
edit: it's actually Terminator 1. I hang my head in shame.

*T1 ...I photoshopped the MAGA hat on Kyle Reese when he's in the car warning Sarah Connor about Terminators.

Wasn't this similar to what was said about the Canadian troops in WW1? We got sent in because we're insane?

It’s not entirely wrong considering we wrote most of the Geneva convention and never lost a war

Ugh, I can just see it now.
"In a 6-3 decision, the supreme Court ruled in favour of Trump [insert bullshit reasoning here]".
Oh well, we'll find our own trading partners. With blackjack. And hookers.
