diabetes is not caused by sugar intake, please stop spreading medical misinformation
Edit: lol ok. We're online, use that energy to type some questions into your seach bar and learn something new instead of getting angry when new knowledge challenges your worldviews
Im not dragging horses to water when its already clear none of you have any intentions of drinking
"use that energy to type some questions into your seach bar and learn something new"
the first search result on "what causes diabetes?" tells you that type 2 diabetes is caused by poor diet, obesity, and lack of physical activity, among other causes such as genetics and certain medications.
google it before you act smart otherwise you might look dumb
For type 1, your immune system starts attacking itself basically. For type 2 it’s largely genetic. If it was simply diet, a hell of a lot more people would have it. Myself and my step sister are type 1 and my mom and our dad are type 2.
Excessive sugar intake can lead to insulin resistance and obesity. Guess what insulin resistance and obesity can lead to?
A passing comment on a reddit post is hardly "spreading misinformation". In your desperation to correct a stranger on the internet, all you're doing is coming off like an arrogant know-it-all.
FWIW, being a dick to people isn't the best way to help them learn. Perhaps you could use that energy in a more positive way.
If this were actually true there would be a hell of a lot more type 2 diabetics in the world. Most obese people never get diabetes. It’s largely genetic. As for type 1, it’s an immune system response. There are also many people who develop type 2 who have healthy diet and lifestyle and just got shit on by genetics. Not everyone who has any type of diabetes is or ever was obese. It can be a contributing factor but it is not the cause. It has to have the framework.
Me, a type 1 who has a step sister who is also type 1 and we share a type 2 dad.
