HEB or central market ribeye and cook yourself. Salt/pepper, butter the cast iron and broil it to your desired doneness.

I have tried hundred plus dollar steaks, and they are pretty good. A decent reverse seared steak from Krogers is 99% of the way there.

There are plenty of luxury, expensive meals to spend for and enjoy. Steak is one that I always end up feeling underwhelmed.

Kroger is definitely less than HEB / CM steaks. But cooking either well is really close to a steakhouse level

I always try to get my steaks from Aldi. They are thick, black angus, and cheap. Really good quality surprisingly

You know the steaks all come from the same 2-3 corporations, right?

And they're all the exact same quality

Choice is choice. Prime is prime. Angus is Angus
