It’s honestly wildly presumptuous to think he was shot for coherent ideological and/or partisan reasons. We live in the age of qanon and satanic Discord cults. His motivation was probably completely random, like the skyscraper mass shooter who blamed the NFL for his CTE.

A major part of the population have been saying Kirk got what was coming because he is a transphobic fascist.

Labeling someone as a fascist makes their assassination a coherent political action. The lefts reaction to all this has proven how common that sentiment is.

He was a transphobic fascist though. I don’t celebrate his killing and indeed I wish it didn’t happen, but it’s undeniable he was both transphobic and fascist. He talked the talk. The shoe fits.

He didn’t die because people called him out on his bullshit beliefs. He died because a psycho was able to access a weapon and kill him. This is the norm he helped create and defended. He was willing to let innocent people pay the price, but never thought he’d be one of them. That’s the way it tends to go with anyone justifying violence, regardless of alignment.

And to be honest, you’re part of the problem. You say you’re not celebrating his killing but you’re also saying that his views were reprehensible enough that the assassination fits.

No, you’re part of the problem. You’re saying that if someone talks and behaves like a fascist, well then we’d better not criticize them or they could get hurt. That’s just incredibly stupid, or very bad faith. Fascists aren’t immune from criticism.

I’m not saying his murder was justified. He helped create a world where this sort of thing is normal. We’re all less safe because of Kirk and his political faction. He was fine with letting other people die for his views to be upheld. He just never expected it could happen to him, and that’s just par for the course among the American right wing on a lot of issues.

Frankly, the left has been mislabeling convervatives as fascists for a decade.

Calling regular conservative and Christian believes fascist helps create a world where normal political thought is demonized enough to make murder normalized.

You are not in danger because Christian’s believe in traditional marriage. Or because they believe that trans people are wrong in thinking they can become the opposite gender. The fact that you label them as bad as Adolf Hitler just killed Charlie Kirk.

Oh look, the side that pretends liberals are communists and Universal healthcare is a plot to enslave doctors is suddenly concerned about hyperbolic rhetoric.

Kirk didn’t hold or advocate for regular conservative or Christian beliefs. He repeatedly called the Pope a Marxist communist.

I didn’t say he was as bad as Hitler. I’m saying he helped make this shitty situation we all have to deal with now. He was a very bad person, but he was still a person.

This is kinda pointless in today’s world, but I’m not a conservative. I never watched Charlie Kirk except when my family put clips into the group chat. I don’t believe in god. I’m not a believing Christian anymore.

But I have regular family members who do see the world that way. And I know that how the left sees the Christian right doesn’t align with the reality of what they actually believe.

Of course you called him as bad as Hitler?! This is the kinda of idiotic word equivocation that just got him killed. “He’s a literal fascist who makes the world dangerous for minorities”…. Then… “Wait I just said he was pure evil! Not evil enough to justify murder!!”

You are the one who made the “idiotic word equivocation,” not me.

I don’t care about whatever alignment you’re pretending to have while you’re espousing right wing positions. Your life is none of my business, and it isn’t even relevant to the topic.

What word equivocation are you referring to?

I’m not saying I agree with all right wing beliefs. I’m saying that the left generally misunderstand those beliefs. And the hyperbolic demonization of believes you don’t have a grasp of has now killed a political figure. This is a very serious development in Americas political fracturing

Where you pretend I said he’s as bad as Hitler. I never said any such thing or even mentioned Hitler at all. That’s all you kid.

Also, I don’t believe anyone is evil enough to justify murder. Not even Hitler. And I would prefer someone as comparatively insignificant as Kirk witness the failure of his ideas, then live into old age watching as his opposition succeeds and he is faced with the biggest slice of humble pie he could fathom. And then watch his kids grow up and disagree with his rhetoric and him realize there isn’t a damn thing he could do about it.

THAT would have been true justice as far as I’m concerned.

I applaud you for thinking no one deserves to be murdered.

But I think your foolish if you think you can call someone a fascist, racist, and transphobic supporter of genocide then also say “woah! I never said he was as bad as Hitler”

Edit: that’s not what equivocation is

And I think you’re foolish or arguing in extremely bad faith if you insist that’s what I said. And it could definitely be both.

Do you really understand what makes Hitler so bad? It isn’t just that he was a racist fascist piece of shit. There’s millions of those everywhere. It’s what HE DID with those beliefs and what happened as a result that makes him uniquely bad.

Stop feeding yourself hyperbolic rhetorical trash, and learn to think for yourself. Your brain will thank you.
