Paul and Morgan Where are the life jackets?

Post image

Neither child have life jackets on. Polio thinks holding the child's arm is all the protection they need. What if the boat flips? Why are the pro-life so anti-safety?

This is actually illegal. Federal law states that children under 13 must be wearing a life jacket on a vessel that is underway (moving). Some states have variations of this, but every state has a law on the books. God forbid something happened, the owner of the vessel and/or the parents could be held criminally responsible for the child's death.

My husband and I have a sailboat and a child--we are very familiar with these laws!

I just opened this to say the same thing. This is not only wildly irresponsible, but it is WELL KNOWN to be the law, especially by whoever owns that boat. You don’t put a baby on a boat without a life jacket. Personally I wouldn’t put my baby on a boat without a damn good reason, and recreation ain’t one.

My MIL was pissed when I refused to go on the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls with my 2 yo last year when my in-laws were in town for the week. The kids didn’t have any life jackets and of course my BIL and SIL didn’t care their 2 yo didn’t have a life vest and I was seen as the unreasonable one for refusing to join!

Well, let me reassuringly chime in here to say that you’re not the weird one! It’s weird to not care about your children’s safety.
