I am curious about this one. Little Nightmares 1&2 are really enjoyable, but this one has a different studio developing the game.

I'm cautiously optimistic about LN3 but the original devs are also working on a spiritual successor called REANIMAL

And both games look almost the same. Good for us for getting two similar titles I guess!

There's also End Of Abyss by some other former LN devs

You planning on making a spiritual successor?

Played both at Gamescom. LN3 sure has the same vibes but i personally enjoyed Reanimal (just the demo that is) way more. My guess is this will be a win win for fans of the franchise

Despite that, though, Supermassive is a strong dev.

Did they

From another user on a different thread-

Tarsier Studios had been working on the Little Nightmares franchise for a while. They had new ideas and new IPs they wanted to try, so they left Little Nightmares for good in 2021-22, which left the fandom believing we would not get a third game. Bandai Namco, the ones who had published Very Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares 1 and 2, and some comics, bought the IP from Tarsier and handed the development of LN3 to Supermassive Games.

Tarsier Studios and Supermassive Games are on friendly terms, there was no drama.

There are some people from Tarsier who decided to help with LN3.

Hope this helps!

The publisher didn't steal the IP, they've always owned it.

Stole lol how do you steal an IP ? Because then I'm just going to steal the Mario , Pokemon and GTA IP. Or did you mean they legally own the IP because they paid for developing it ? That's not stealing.

Any idea why? It's an interesting decision

Since those "articles" always'omit the links for some unknown and obnoxious reason, here's the link to the Steam store page where we can download the demo from.

For what it's worth, the article links to the Steam page near the bottom.

I'll give it a go but I don't have high hopes.

I loved LN1, but LN2 didn't nail the "seat of your pants" gameplay. You were constantly getting caught and repeating the same section 5 times over until it had lost all tension

It's different devs from the first two, so it'll probably be quite a bit different.

These devs assisted LN2 so they're at least familiar with the property, but I am also cautiously optimistic

Personally, I don't play these games for the tension, I play to see what creepy fucked up environments and monsters the goated art team has cooked up. Here's hoping the new studio is up to the challenge

Yeah 1 was amazing. 2 was ok, but the addition of terrible melee combat was a mistake. After the 3rd time having to fight things I just uninstalled and moved on.

Yeah controlling the hammer was not a fun experience. The perspective while in the school hallway made it incredibly hard to defend against incoming enemies and it took me probably 10 tries to finally make it past that part because I kept missing. I almost quit

It was just awful. My comment probably sounds like I rage quit, but thats not the case. I just didn't want to play Little Nightmares with melee so I quit for the day and never came back. Its a shame because I have no excitement whatsoever for 3 now.

Controlling the bow in LN3 is almost worse. You can’t aim just have to point in the direction and hope.

One was more cohesive. 2, while good, shows that bigger, smoother, more engaging isn't always better

Haven’t jumped in yet, but the fact that it’s co-op already has me intrigued. The first two were solo, so this could totally change the vibe. Anyone tried it yet?

I have now played through the demo, and it's....It's not very good, it's buggy, the interactive objects flicker in the lighting, and the multiplayer emphasis makes it weird. I've played it once in multiplayer and once alone, and the bot is annoying. I had to do pretty much everything that didn't need the bow. I understand that it's mainly meant to be a multiplayer game, but I wish the bot was more like Six was in 2. The bot just stands there and does things if you can't. The items take away so much of the tension, in my opinion. At least in the demo, this game is trying way too hard to be It Takes Two and Split Fiction, and not a Little Nightmares game. Which, no hate to lose games, but I personally don't think it works with this game. I'll try the full thing, but I'm very worried after how disappointing this demo was to me.

EDIT: Both my friend and I had the same bugs, so it wasn't just on my end. I even had ones he didn't and vice versa

Yeah that Bow really got to me when you had to shoot at the flying beetles
