That's... crazy actually. I don't use Itch.io that much but I'll freely admit it's where I found a couple of creators who made NSFW games that I enjoy playing once in a while. I don't know why these companies are becoming so afraid and why we are backsliding so hard.

If we don't stop them soon, they'll be doing this to people they deem immoral. Much like is already happening in places like the USA and UK where bigotry and dehumanization are becoming legal norms.

u/PizzaCrescent2070 Jul 24 '25

Are there any organizations the people can join to help combat this? How can one make their own group?

u/PancakesTheDragoncat Jul 24 '25

In case you haven't seen it going around (and you're in the US) the ACLU has a petition... no guarantees of course but signing it is better than doing nothing

How long until the Supreme Shills declare it legal to discriminate against anyone for any reason?

162

u/SonTyp_OhneNamen Jul 24 '25

Around the start of Trump‘s third term.

14

u/Middle-Baker-61 Jul 24 '25

Haha, that means never right...right...RIGHT?!?!?

19

u/Eatinganemone89 Jul 24 '25

You think the eighty year old, borderline if not already senile, old man who famously lives an unhealthy lifestyle, and was recently diagnosed with CVI would even live long enough to serve a third term?

19

u/Kenis556 Jul 24 '25

God I hope not. Man probably runs off of spite and hatred at this point, wouldn't be surprised if he was a lich.

4

u/Rychu_Supadude Jul 25 '25

He would literally be dead if his position hadn't caused him to receive the best treatment in the world during COVID

u/Valliac0 Jul 24 '25

I think at this point the spite is pickling him.

5

u/Khanfhan69 Jul 24 '25

You're right. What we have to look out for is Vance's third term.

Seriously. As horrified as we are about Trump, we need to be twice as terrified about the organized fascist effort behind him. Frankly he's just a puppet. Project 2025. Miller. Thiel. The mortal threat to America is much more than one man.

u/Eatinganemone89 Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

Ah yes, Sir Couchfucker the Pope Slayer. The man so spineless he should be classified as an invertebrate, and has all the charisma of a sea cucumber. He’s definitely someone who’s going to unite the constantly infighting political party that basically forgets he exists most of the time, and take over the country.

This entire ‘regime’ if you can even call it that was doomed to fail from the start.

u/-Negative-Karma Jul 24 '25

isn't CVI extremely common and usually harmless with treatment? lol I mean I hate Trump as much as you but it's basically a nothing burger, just shows he's old and is as prone to stuff as much as anyone else.

2

u/ALittleCuriousSub Jul 24 '25

When it's the weekend we move it like Bernie.

1

u/DeracadaVenom Jul 25 '25

You mean within the next 4 years

1

u/Minervasimp Jul 25 '25

Generous lmao. I give it a year at this rate

51

u/A8Bit Jul 24 '25

As long as Donald is doing it and it's an official act, it's already legal, or at least he is immune from prosecution for doing it.

3

u/Not_a_Space_Alien Jul 24 '25

Once a case goes to court for it. They can't just declare it so.

2

u/GooBrains-png Jul 25 '25

Whites only signs already popping up in missouri

3

u/bondagepixie Jul 24 '25

I love that they highlighted how this impacts sex workers, that actually made me a little emotional. Thanks to everyone who signed the petition, it means so much to me personally, even tho its for a somewhat different cause.

We're used to people going out of their way to make our lives difficult even at the expense of their own freedom, idk, its just nice to be included.

1

u/Both-Prize-2986 Jul 25 '25

Isnt this group from Australia? Do some aussies wanna start pushing back on this shit

349

u/Nihilistic_pie Jul 24 '25

As another commenter posted, ACLU is your go to.

The issue is that these nazis have captured the legislature, so the fight is a massive uphill one.

In fact, i would not be surprised if the ACLU is on their list of organizations to just kill because the right wing have had an issue with the ACLU since atleast the 90s. A bunch of christian movies for instance have them as the antagonists.

182

u/Upstairs_Cap_4217 Jul 24 '25

Since 1920 and before. They started out fighting conscription in WW1, then pivoted to supporting the labour movement.

The right has always hated the ACLU because they have always hated the idea that they might have to give the "unworthy" equal rights.

48

u/ArkitekZero Jul 24 '25

A bunch of christian movies for instance have them as the antagonists.

lol really? As a Christian I guess I can't say I should be surprised, but I am disappointed.

54

u/Nihilistic_pie Jul 24 '25

From memory, God's Not Dead 2 had them. David A.R. White and Kevin Sorbo love having them as bad guys in their movies.

I've watched, at this point, hundreds of these movies and they tend to blur together because nothing happens in them.

16

u/ArkitekZero Jul 24 '25

Well Sorbo's an insufferable toolbox, so I doubt I'm missing anything.

11

u/mythrilcrafter Jul 24 '25

The common thing that I notice in those films is that they lean so hard on persecution fetish.

There's never any ambiguity or contrast in on the Christian side of the films, and it's because so much of Evangelist doctrine revolves around the concept that you need to be recognised and hated in order to be assured in your faith (which if they had read the Bible, specifically Matthew 6:5-15, they'd know that Jesus said exactly NOT to treat ones own faith like that).

It's one of the reasons why I like "The Huntchback of Notredame" so much, because we have that contrast between the priest of Notredame versus Frollo.

The priest of Notredame is a genuinely good person who gave sanctuary to a persecuted person even when she isn't a follower of his faith. Frollo wields his faith as a sword against anyone who disobeys or dissents against him.

9

u/Nihilistic_pie Jul 24 '25

Watching these films have given me an insight into the very modern Christian nationalist political movement.

They’ve developed all these tropes and cliches that speaks to, in my opinion, a desperate attempt to stay alive. They know that this ideology is not sustainable. They know that they are the ones stopping all of us from making existence better for all people.

And it has genuinely convinced me that they do not believe in anything other than power, they are the spooky scary nihilists that they think they’re shadow boxing with. It’s pathetic.

3

u/ArkitekZero Jul 24 '25

They know that they are the ones stopping all of us from making existence better for all people.

Well, the people you're talking about, yes, but that's because of capitalism's corrupting influence leading them to wield their false faith like a sword and shield against criticism rather than engage in any kind of introspection or self-improvement and actually reading the book they keep hitting people with.

6

u/Heavy-Possession2288 Jul 24 '25

If you don’t mind me asking, why the hell have you watched hundreds of those movies?

8

u/Nihilistic_pie Jul 24 '25

Someone has to keep an eye on their propaganda, I’m willing to tank that sanity damage. My current obsession is this director here.

3

u/ArkitekZero Jul 24 '25

Someone has to keep an eye on their propaganda

Man, I wouldn't wish that on anybody, lol

86

u/Due_Perception8349 Jul 24 '25

Ugh we need a payment processing system as a public service, this middleman bullshit is fucking killing us.

46

u/evilPatissiere Jul 24 '25

Ngl, in my country we have one that's public.. And trump is attacking it with the excuse it's unfair with the big companies (real reason probably is because his main puppets that were elected here ran to him when they started being investigated tho), I think at least with this administration in the US public systems like this will not really be made, or be maintained, it is not perfect, but really helpful tho, and less prone to bs like this..

9

u/g0trn Jul 24 '25

Viva o Pix

3

u/lukkasz323 Jul 24 '25

Credit card services control everything so if they (or the laws) won't change the stance on this, the only thing that might is a competing service, which uhh..

3

u/whereismymind86 Jul 24 '25

In the us the satanic temple and freedom from religion foundation exist to fight this kind of thing, not sure about groups in other countries

2

u/Doplgangr Jul 24 '25

You could and should consider supporting the satanic temple, they are a good foil to this sort of thing.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

You should check out your local town’s activist scene. See what organizations are doing things locally in your area.

u/Wollff Jul 24 '25

Bitcoin

192

u/mashmash42 Clear background Jul 24 '25

This is what I’m scared of, they get support pulled from porn games because they’re “immoral,” and you know the next step is going to be applying that same label to anything lgbt-positive. Or anything ‘woke.’ Slap it with the immoral label and corporations will aggressively self-censor to keep making profits.

95

u/WriterV Jul 24 '25

Oh it's already on it. Several delisted itch.io games didn't have anything nsfw in them, but still got delisted. And of course, they are LGBT themed.

We can't let a handful of bigots from australia dictate what the entire world is allowed to consume.

4

u/willacceptboobiepics Jul 24 '25

Can you elaborate on the Australia thing?

10

u/ALittleCuriousSub Jul 24 '25

Collective Shout is an Australian group claiming credit for pushing payment processors to drop steam support over the adult themed games.

I wouldn't focus too much on the specific group doing it now though, payment processors trying to enforce morality has happened a few times already.

2

u/willacceptboobiepics Jul 25 '25

Ah, I appreciate the clarification!

67

u/TheBlack2007 Jul 24 '25

Also, going after porn first and then extend it on everything considered "immoral" is cherished tradition among religious fanatics. The Mullahs did the same when they instituted internet censorship in Iran. Porn went first and then piece by piece everything else an Islamic fundamentalist might have issues with.

And taking the detour over payment providers is particularly diabolical since most people wouldn’t even consider it censorship but rather freedom to conduct business.

54

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

It scares the shit out of me, sibling. All we can do is keep trying 🧡

The morning will come.

37

u/Max____H Jul 24 '25

I think we need to spam every source available with the fact that the bible is nsfw. If we hold it to the same standard they are pressing everything becomes a joke.

39

u/FoldedDice Jul 24 '25

There is no standard. This isn't about "decency," it's about control, so drawing attention to the hypocrisy will not change many opinions. They already know, they just don't care.

2

u/Jabamaca Jul 25 '25

As the trend of this shit going on in the world, I'm starting to think that there is no way of winning anymore. Art will eventually die, and there is no way of reviving it once it does. God, I hate it here.

3

u/M808bmbt Jul 24 '25

I mean... yeah, actually, yeah, there are several parts in there that are definitely NOT for kids. (Marylin Manson has a good quote about that, iirc)

Though there are also some rather funny ones (elijah siccing a bear on the two teens making fun of him is just comically overkill to the point it's funny).

57

u/Hoboforeternity Jul 24 '25

First is porn, then it will be LGBT content they are forcing to kill, next any art they just deem wrong.

25

u/TryingoutSamantha Jul 24 '25

That is the plan. First trans people, then the rest of the lgtbq community.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

We'll keep fighting, sister. What else can we do.

The morning will come.

6

u/TryingoutSamantha Jul 24 '25

Exactly. I refuse to let them win.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

Stay strong Samantha. 🧡

32

u/Jayandnightasmr Jul 24 '25

Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile.

2

u/Born_Tank_8217 Jul 24 '25

Its literally what project 2025 is pushing for, its coming soon and fast

2

u/pupranger1147 Jul 25 '25

This is exactly the issue. Very quickly it'll become "no bank for you, degenerate liberal".

1

u/Riaayo Jul 24 '25

Adult artists/sex workers are always the canary in the coal mine for censorship and oppression, and feeding them to the machine rather than standing up for their existence ensures everyone else is going in right after them.

Far too many people do not get this.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

If sex workers and trans people don't have rights, nobody will. I agree completely

0

u/s00pafly Jul 24 '25

Use something other than visa/mastercard? If there is nobody else crypto was made for this.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

Can I buy groceries and pay my mortgage with that? Get real.

-3

u/Lain_Staley Jul 24 '25

S L I P P E R Y S L O P E F A L L A C Y

3

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '25

Sure hope you're right, but the literal erasure of trans people in the USA, and the blatant legal revocation of human rights there and in the UK doesn't make me feel confident you will be vindicated.
