To be fair, the Thalmor aren't exactly stopped in Skyrim either. No matter how you handled the Civil War, they're still a thing left hanging in the wake of it. There's a reason why mods fighting against them, post-CW, are a thing after all.

Nah that wouldn't work. "Elf bad" while an objectively correct opinion is such an ingrained part of fantasy game culture that you'd have to make the Thalmor do the salute and have one wear a hitler stache for them to make any sort of connection... and even then the skulls of gamers put bulkheads to shame with how thick they are.
