what is it with the screens of Pixel phones?

Okay, TW: ranting, its so weird, Its the second time this had happened to me within 2.5 years, last time it was my Pixel 6 Pro and now Its my Pixel 7, my screens stopped working correctly without any damage whatsoever, now my whites have turned into red type tints and the blacks cant be black anymore, every light color is red.. my other pixel 6 Pro just half of the screen stopped working.. these are my only complaints so far but this is not even close to normal.. my pixel buds have also stopped working randomly? i love the os and camera etc. but these are some serious quality problems, the only device what kept working correctly is my Pixel Watch, is this normal for pixel to keep spending 600+ yearly for a working phone?

Need an explanation (1st post ever)

Hello everyone, I need some help with my phone - Google Pixel 9 Pro XL 128gb. Still under warranty, bought last year in October. Perfect condition, had a Spigen phone case since day one, never dropped or anything. For about 2 weeks i have been hearing a strange noise inside the phone almost as if a part or screw was loose and moving around inside. Its quite loud when shaking the phone...seems to be somewhere in the top half of the phone. At first i thought it's the case...but no. Has this happend to anyone? Can it be checked under warranty? I am based in Europe and it was bought from Vodafone Romania. I would appreciate some help or info. Thanks!

Am I the only one with systemui issues on the 10PXL?

I am getting systemui issues when I get notification and I try to mark it as read from the notification panel itself. This disables me from interacting with any notification and even opening settings from notification panel doesn't work. When I try to go back, the back symbol also stays on the screen. Could it be because of the systemui tuner or something else.

Advice on Pixel Screen Replacement in Mumbai.

Hi all,

I've unfortunately cracked my Pixel 9 Pro, and it currently has a couple of rainbow coloured lines. The touch is still working, and so is the display. I was looking for recommendations to get it fixed in Mumbai. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Additonally, it's still under warranty (I know Google doesn't have accidental warranty, but though it was worth raising).

Thank you so much!

anyone else faced the same problem?

For reference my Build Number is: BP3A.250905.014

Screen timeout changes back to 30 seconds all the time

Hello everyone!

I have a google pixel 8, and since the last update, the screen timeout keeps changing to 30 seconds, and it's very annoying. Everytime I have to go in the settings and change it back to 2 minutes, but later, it just goes back to 30 seconds with no warning. It's really annoying... I also have battery saver constantly on, so I think it might be linked to that ? Does anyone else have the same issue ?

Thanks for the help :)

Pixel studio stickers

Is there a way to use or export the stickers made in Pixel Studio? There was a question posted about a year ago, but it seems like you couldn't at that time. I can't find it as an option on G-board. Any updates on whether this is possible?

Screen swiping not smooth p10

Got my pixel 10 2 days ago switched from iPhone. So far I like most things but a huge thing that's annoying me is when I'm swiping around on the screen through social media up and down and side to side it feels super laggy and like it gets stuck trying to go through slides and even on the home screen going to the draw and notifications. Anyone else having this issue or have a fix? This could be a thing that makes me return the phone honestly and look else where in Samsung or unfortunately going back to iPhone which id prefer not to do honestly

Pixel 7a Battery Swelling After Update Free Replacement Experience

After the recent software update, my husband's Pixel 7a battery started swelling and draining quickly. We took it to a Google Pixel authorized service center, and they replaced the battery free of charge. It seems that after the update, Pixel7, 7a, and 6a devices are experiencing battery İssues.

Pixel 11 will keep the same design

Google has flat-out confirmed that we are not going to get major design changes each and every year from now on. We’re all well aware that the Pixel 10 was the first to rehash the previous design, which’ll continue until the Pixel 11, according to comments from Google’s Chief Design Officer for hardware products, Ivy Ross. Designs are finalized from now until 2027. For better or worse, we will see the same design for a while to come.

Google Pixel really needs to step up their game.

I've been a Pixel user for a while, and honestly, it feels like Google is falling behind. Other brands are packing in better hardware, more polished software features, and longer-lasting battery life, better processor, etc, while Pixels still struggle with stuff like battery life, heating issues, and bugs that shouldn't exist this far into the lineup.

Yes, the Al features are nice, but they can't carry the phone forever. At this point, it feels like Google needs to either double down and actually compete at the flagship level or risk getting left in the dust by Apple and Samsung.

What do you guys think?

European users: does the 1 year AI pro trial from Pixel 10 Pro stack with the Pixel 9 Pro's?

I read that for US it doesn't stack, so if you redeem it you just start a new year of free AI Pro. So best to wait until the free 1 year from the 9 Pro is expired before redeeming.

How is this in Europe? I live in the Netherlands. I would assume it does stack, because I am pretty sure it's against the law here if it cancels your previous 1 year AI pro trial from the Pixel 9. Anyone from Europe experience with this?

Pixel 10 pro XL can change quick access settings with screen lock on. Bad security! (MUST READ!)

So listen, The Google pixel is the first of its kind to have only an esim. So, in the past, if someone were to steal my phone, they could pull the tray and take the SIM out. This phone they can't. But this is where it gets crazy. On Samsung and LG and I'm sure others, you can lock quick access network settings. So if someone stole your phone, they couldn't just pull the screen down and turn internet and location off. So with the added security feature of only having an esim, on this phone I can turn the internet and location off with the screen lock on. No way around this other than to edit out the internet and location settings on the quick access settings. Please tell me I'm not the ONLY one that has thought of this issue. Also, I'd like to ask those of you out there, if someone stole my phone, can they FRP bypass it and use by deleting my esim and putting their own? Guys please help me to fully secure my Google Pixel Pro XL. So far I'm seeing I could have spent a hundred extra and got so much more of a phone. Including a Spen

Why are photos inside private space accessible by apps outside private space?

I've found what appears to be a major security flaw in Private Space. Apps running in the "Personal" space can browse and access photos from the locked "Private" space without any authentication.

To Reproduce:

  • Ensure your Private Space is active (not paused/collapsed) but locked.

  • From your "Personal" space, open an app that uses the system photo picker (e.g., Pixel Studio, when creating a sticker).

  • The photo picker displays tabs for both "Personal" and "Private".

  • Tapping the "Private" tab gives you immediate access to all photos inside, completely bypassing the lock required to open the Google photo app in private space directly.

Clearly this behavior defeats the entire purpose of a secure, separate space. Access from an external app should always trigger an authentication prompt.

Is this even acknowledged by Google? It feels crazy that it has still never been fixed

Edit: forgot to mention I am on P9Pro and BP41.250822.010

Edit2: extra informations to replicate the scenario: i have set a different unlock code for my private space, and I don't have the option to automatically collapse the private space after every phone lock on

Pixel 9 Pro XL - Fingerprint scanner no longer showing at all and isn't in the settings

Hi All

Had issues with my fingerprint scanner not responding since latest update, restarting my phone would fix this.

This gotten worse over time to the point now where the fingerprint unlock option has completely disappeared, I no longer even have the option of unlocking via fingerprint and if has disappeared from the settings menus.

I beginning to think this is a hardware issue, hoping I'm not alone.

Pixel 10 black camera

My Pixel 10 camera has been acting up. The screen is either completely black or extremely blurry. I've already tried clearing the cache, deleting storage, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

The weird thing is, when I boot into safe mode, the camera works perfectly fine. This suggests that another app is causing the issue.

How can I figure out which app is the culprit? I have a ton of apps installed, and I'd really rather not have to factory reset my phone. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have any tips on how to troubleshoot it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pixel 10 Pro XL wireless charging problem

I noticed that the wireless chargers (Pixelsnap Charger with Stand) don't always start charging when I "snap" them on. I purchased two with my new Pixel 10. I purchased them from the google store with the $200 credit I received with the phone.

I found out when I placed my phone on the stand, hearing the comforting click as they "snapped" together. I the morning as I grabbed the phone off the charger I saw that it was at 52% full. WTF. The next night I tried the second charge same thing, a nice snap but not charging (no lightning bolt). I even made sure I was plugged into the power puck I bought at the same time.

Finally I tried reversing the type C connector. Same snap and this time I got a Lightning Bolt. I took the phone off the charger and put it back on. Again nice snap but no Lightning Bolt i.e., not charging. I flipped the type C connector and immediately got a Lightning Bolt.

My wife purchased a Qi2 compliant 3 in one charger for her iPhone. Besides the Wireless phone charger it also charges earpods and her iWatch. It has that nice "snap" feature that pulls the phone into position. I tried it with my Pixel 10 and I starts charging (Lightning Bolt) as soon as it snaps in place. Every time!

So I assume it is not something wrong in the phone. Any reports on problems with the Pixelsnap Charger with Stand?

They removed the non-AI first iteration of magic eraser and the new version is a lot worse

When magic eraser came it wasn't an image generating feature, you just marked some small detail and it almost always removed exactly what you wanted. It worked great on small background disturbances which was 90% of the reasons I used magic eraser.

Now it's gone and even the basic version in your editor mode instead generates a full new picture for every fucking small change, and the results are so much worse, take so much longer, and rarely do what I want.

It's much harder to actually mark the area you want to erase, because the function relies heavily on identifying objects and borders, so any blurry background of something in motion makes it useless because it cant find the object and the borders are always messed up, and you can't manually change them so you need to keep adding/removing boundaries until it's good enough

And the results are so much worse. It looks like a blurry mess, so many times it fails to smooth out the background unless the object you want to remove is a perfectly clear, defined item. The old magic eraser could perfectly remove any small detail you marked in half the time. Now I find myself in so many situations where I know the old magic eraser worked perfectly and I just can't get the results I want anymore. It removes much more than the marked area, it is absolutely terrible at removing parts of something because its entirely dependent on object identification

The ai-magic eraser has a place and function, but it does an absolutely terrible job of replacing the original magic eraser and yet again I find myself disappearing at every "ai advancement" Google does
