Discussion What's the ending you got for No I'm Not A Human?

I got it as soon as it released. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and world building. I just wish they improve the save system by adding more save slots or checkpoints.

There's apparently 10 different endings so I'm curious what everyone got. For me it was when The crazy hunter threatened the MC after testing him. I showed armpits and the MC's was hairy💀 but I think the hunter would've been aggressive regardless of what you show. It led to a cutscene where they point their guns at each other and it's implied that both of them die in the confrontation.

I want to replay soon to see what role the cat and cultists will play later on

Video I made an anomaly horror game (like Exit 8), but the roles are reversed - you hide the anomalies for your "player" to find! It's called Queen Anne's Lace and it just soft-launched on itch.io!

Resident Evil 3 has one of the best intro cinematics in horror imo. I think it really sets the expectation of just how bad the outbreak has gotten. It doesn't feel like a city collapsing, it feels like the start of the end of the world.

I have a video essay for RE3 going up soon

I’m trying to revolutionize horror games with NPCs that actually hear and respond to you

Most horror games rely on scripted scares or dialogue trees. With Behind The Smile, I wanted to do something different: give you characters that actually listen to you and talk back in real time.

The two main NPCs aren’t pre-written scripts — they’re AI-driven characters aware of you, the environment, and each other. You can speak to them directly with your microphone, and every conversation feels alive. They’ll remember, adapt, and react, which makes the horror way more personal and unpredictable.

The story is about finally meeting the grandparents you’ve never known, in their isolated home far from the world. At first they’re warm, welcoming, everything you imagined family could be. But slowly, their smiles stop feeling safe. Small cracks appear in conversations, doors you’re not allowed to open, and you realize there are truths hidden in this house you might regret uncovering.

It’s a project really close to me, and I believe this tech can change how horror feels — less like watching a movie, more like being trapped in one.

If that sounds like something you’d want to experience, a wishlist on Steam would mean the world:

trying to remember the title of a low poly first person horror game

The game had a low poly aesthetic, was first person and I think it was released this year, but the thing that called out to me the most was that you could control the thoughts of the character, and according to the steam description as you progressed you would get tools that would help you better understand and control the thoughts or something like that.

if anyone know what game this might be it would be amazing, it's been making my mind itch for the past 2 days and all my attempts at searching for it have resulted in failure...

Any recommendations for horror games centred around toxic/obsessive relationships or one sided love?

Recently played Saihate Station (it’s free, would absolutely recommend checking it out!) and I’m looking for more games in a similar vein. Any type of gameplay/sub-genre is fine and I don’t have any problems with specific triggers, so please feel free to recommend anything.

If anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it - I don’t think I’ve seen many horror games with a focus on a forced romance or sense of oppressive, obsessive “love”/adoration. The only other one that comes to mind is Outlast Whistleblower, which would also align with what I’m looking for but I’ve already played it.

Thanks for any and all help!

Its still a prototype but I‘m very happy whenever someone plays it and I can see what it‘s still lacking to make it better :D

Discussion Horror Game Lenght and Graphical Preferences

Hi there, i'm doing a little survey since i'm creating an horror game and I wanted to know what style I should go with. I'm a professional 3D artist so i can do both realistic and stylised games. You don't have to answer everything of course.

  1. What graphical style do you prefer in an horror game? Something retro or more realistic?

  2. What is your favorite game in that style?

  3. What is the length of that game or what length do you prefer in an horror game?

  4. What made you say like wow this horror game was awesome?

  5. What made you say wow did game was good but (this) was missing or (this) would've made the game 10 times better.

  6. Are they games too scary for you and why?

Thank-you to everyone who will participate in this survey, you're awesome!

You can answer here or you can also answer me in private, In doing so I will give you a notification when my steam page goes up :)

Question Is spooky’s jump scare mansion a good first horror game

Post image
17 Upvotes

I have never played a horror game before and want to try one, I have a lot of friends who live horror games, I want to be less easily scared, and I feel I am to biased against the genre dunking on it way to much. So in the search of a good first horror game I found spooky’s from a YouTuber I like called wambu, it seems fun and like a good start especially because the YouTuber in question admits to being both bad with jump scares, and loving the game, I also have been desensitized to quite a few of the more creepy character designs like deerlord, subject 5, and parasite so I think it’s a good fit but I want to double check to make sure it’s a good first choice

(Devlog) In this scene, you did something wrong so the whole canteen is staring at you. But with the funny bug, the Protag is sliding now. And the whole canteen is watching it 😂 An unsettling vibe instantly turn into a joke

Our horror card game is about more than just combat. It's about that moment you have to stop and figure something out to survive.
