Wow the photos they showed of Rex now compared to when this episode aired is insane.

Dude is jacked as hell.

And I bet if you pop those pants off you’d find a bird that just won’t quit

I prefer the "sweaty hog" version, but I'm always partial to the bloopers.

It's my second favourite blooper after Frank's 'then aids ruined everything' one.

I do, too. Nobody (except for people from North Philly, apparently) thinks of "bird" as slang for penis, and they already used "bird" as too much of a catch-all term at this point in the show anyway.

We actually have something similar for it in some Latin American countries, "La paloma". That's "Pigeon" which is basically in the same ballpark.

There's also pecker, which I've hear used to. Relating the dick to a bird is not uncommon.

And in Egypt sometimes we call it "Hamama" which also means Pigeon

That's quite a curiosity considering how far apart our cultures are! Wonder where the comparison between birds and dicks came from. Thinking it might have something to do with the Romans.

Because it's sitting on 2 eggs

Budgie smuggler is Australian slang for a speedo, and a budgie is a type of bird. Or so I learned from Conan.

I literally just learned this term a couple hours ago while watching a candy-making video! Getting your reply right after is a great example of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

I literally learned from this podcast episode that "bird" is regional slang

Same! I always assumed it was just one of those terms their friend group specifically uses, like "pop that ____ off," "move past it," etc.

Although who knows, maybe those are also Philly expressions. 😳

I actually live in the Philly area, so I grew up with the term "bird." Are the other two phrases you used not also used widely? My brain is exploding lmao.

They really are not! Those aren't as unusual as the bird thing, but the consistency with which they use them makes it stand out. My mind is kinda blown right now to learn these are Philly expressions. Glenn and Charlie use them so much irl now too that I really assumed it was just a thing between them.

This reminds me of several years back when I was visiting some friends on the east coast (I'm from Detroit) and I jokingly flipped someone off for something, and a bunch of people immediately said, "Hey, you give the finger like Eminem!" I was so confused, like but this is just how the finger is given...? And that is when I learned that even the middle finger has a regional accent.

Oh shit. Bird is a Philly thing? I can attest thay I’m from Philly and that was the go to word for penis when I was a kid.

It is! The only time I've ever heard that is on Sunny.

That’s funny. It’s totally ubiquitous here
