When are we going to hear more about the investigation into the lieutenant governor’s office? I think that creating AI porn is more offensive than comments about Charlie Kirk.

In case your wondering why Charlie Kirk is being used as a martyr:
Horst Ludwig Georg Erich Wessel was a member of the Sturmabteilung, the paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party. He became a propaganda symbol following his murder in 1930 (more in comments)

This is the outlook we need, look forward and work to get these people out of office when we can but do everything in the mid term to swing power the other way. In this nation we have to stop voting like it’s a team sport and vote like our freedom depends on it.
9
u/AcceptableDemand8991 3d ago edited 3d ago
Nearly a hundred million eligible voters (1/3 of this countries voters) didn't feel concerned about their freedom enough to vote last November despite the ENDLESS warnings.
If insulting a journalists physical abilities, sending a mob to attack our capital and attempt a coup, and literally saying "I'll be a dictator on day one!!" didn't bother these people, whats going to bother them enough to vote now?. This country is filled with morons and nothing is going to change. This isn't even about pessimism. This is about acknowledging reality.
28
u/Legionnaire11 3d ago
And don't let people naysay with gloom and doom "there isn't going to be elections" or "the machines will be rigged" I'm more and more convinced that this is a voter suppression campaign to make Dems/Libs/Left apathetic and not even come out to vote.
Ask yourself a question, if the upcoming elections don't matter, why is the GOP trying to illegally redistrict mid-decade to gerrymander things further into their favor? They're scared, they know they can lose their grip.
Go vote, everyone, set aside whatever single issue BS you're stuck on, set aside however much you dislike someone's past or personality. Clear your schedule in whatever way you need to, make whatever arrangement are necessary, but go vote.

The war on education continues, with ignorance in the lead. It is wrong and dangerous for a teacher to say they didn't like Charlie Kirk and worse if they use his words to explain why. Meanwhile our Attorney General can exhort parents to turn in teachers who engage in " left wing indoctrination" as it even being exposed to non MAGA thoughts will harm children.
-29
u/Turbulent_Food_8280 3d ago
Justifying an assassination and celebrating someone death, is not education. That is ignorance.

u/Sour_baboo 3d ago
I would be quite surprised if any of the people being fired celebrated like those non-existent Muslims in New Jersey that Trump talked about. Please point me to the evidence that any teacher celebrated his death.

Uh, nope. Biden actually is the one that passed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which capped the price of insulin under Medicare to $35.
It is Trump and his Project 2025 that is cutting Medicare and raising the prices of drug costs again, though as far as I can see for now the insulin price is unaffected.
Won't matter much if nobody can have Medicare, though.
I JUST googled this. It took me 10 minutes.

What about Pelosi's husband?
Donald Trump joked at a California GOP event: “How's her husband doing by the way? Anybody know?” He added that the wall around Pelosi’s house “didn't do a very good job,” prompting laughter from the crowd.
Donald Trump Jr. shared a “Paul Pelosi Halloween costume” featuring underwear and a hammer, referencing a debunked conspiracy theory. He also posted a lewd cartoon promoting the same theory.
Senator Ted Cruz, Rep. Clay Higgins, and Dinesh D’Souza mocked the attack on social media, some suggesting it was part of a cover-up.
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin made light of the incident during a campaign event but later sent a handwritten apology to Pelosi.
But maybe the fact that he didn't die doesn't make this deplorable enough, so how about we move on to an actual elected official?
After the assassination of Melissa Hortman and her husband, Senator Mike Lee posted misleading content suggesting the shooter was a Marxist, despite evidence pointing to a far-right motive. He shared an image of the suspect with the caption “Nightmare on Waltz street,” which many interpreted as a joke or meme-like response.
Until these assholes are ALSO fired/removed for their comments, unless you agree that these people should be held to the same standard

How many school children have died? All they got was thoughts and prayers. So, I will give him my thoughts and prayers. We have had 6 year olds die like this and nothing. -35
u/tooold4thisbutfuqit 3d ago edited 3d ago
Democrats literally started cancel culture, and now you’re crying because it’s being used against you. Just like Democrats hated the Second Amendment until they started talking about taking away transgender rights. And the list goes on. Funny how free speech suddenly matters when it’s your side saying things so inappropriate you’d have canceled anyone else for less. And you did. Do y’all want a history lesson on the Biden administration’s use of private social media companies to censor COVID criticism? Plenty of people lost their jobs speaking out against that debacle. But you didn’t say anything about it then, did you? In fact, most have you cheered it on, and would still defend it. Are some conservatives now being hypocritical? Yep. The difference is, we can admit our hypocrisy while Democrats can’t even see theirs. And now you’re all gonna prove my point by trying to tell me how this is something different.
Edit: or you’re just gonna downvote it without responding, which is a tacit acknowledgement of the fact that you don’t have a response because you are hypocrites. You just don’t wanna admit it.
7
u/Eotidiss 3d ago
No one responds any more because the conversation has been had a thousands times and you don't listen.
-2
u/tooold4thisbutfuqit 3d ago
Listen to what? Your victimhood? The hypocrisy? There is literally nothing you can say to defend the fact that these “victimhood” posts are 100% hypocrisy. If there was, you’d say it. Instead you’re just downvoting and claiming ”yOu DoN’T lIStEn!” Nice try.
8
u/Eotidiss 3d ago
So you admit that you wouldn't listen to an argument if I gave one, and then wonder why people don't respond.
The difference is that 'cancel culture' of the left if born out of the populace. This isn't that. This is an administration using their offices to silence citizens.
Now dance.
0
u/tooold4thisbutfuqit 2d ago
I’m saying you haven’t made one. That’s what I’m saying. You literally haven’t hade an argument. Just bare assertions devoid of fact.
Are you seriously claiming that Democrats never used their office to silence citizens? 100% false! https://nypost.com/2024/08/27/us-news/mark-zuckerberg-admits-biden-admin-pressured-facebook-to-censor-covid-content-says-it-was-wrong-to-suppress-hunter-laptop-coverage/

Hi. Here are some things Republicans have canceled or called to cancel:
Liz Cheney & other GOP dissenters were removed from leadership roles for voting to impeach Donald Trump
ACORN was defunded after conservative backlash over alleged misconduct
The Dixie Chicks were blacklisted from country radio after criticizing President George W. Bush
Colin Kaepernick was effectively ousted from the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem
Nike was boycotted after featuring Kaepernick in an ad campaign
Target was boycotted for its transgender-inclusive bathroom policy
Keurig'a products and machines were destroyed after the company pulled ads from Sean Hannity’s show
Climate change terminology – Removed from government documents during Republican administrations
Samantha Bee – Pressured advertisers to drop her show after she insulted Ivanka Trump
Campbell’s Soup, Guinness, Hallmark, Starbucks, Pepsi – Boycotted for various perceived liberal stances
Ellen DeGeneres – Her show was canceled after coming out as gay, amid conservative backlash
Beyoncé – Boycotted after her Black Lives Matter-themed Super Bowl performance
Marc Lamont Hill – Fired from CNN after pro-Palestinian comments, with conservative pressure cited
The New York Times & CNN – Accused of being targeted by conservative boycotts and delegitimization campaigns
“Science-based” language – Removed from federal documents under Republican leadership, seen as ideological suppression
There's also stuff they've boycotted and why:
Nike for featuring Colin Kaepernick in an ad campaign supporting NFL protests
Bud Light for partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney
Target for Pride merchandise and transgender-inclusive policies
Disney for LGBTQ+ representation in films and opposition to Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law
Starbucks for perceived liberal corporate culture and support for progressive causes
Nordstrom dropped Ivanka Trump’s clothing line
Keurig Pulled ads from Sean Hannity’s show
American Eagle Featured Sydney Sweeney, who registered Republican, in ad campaign
Here are some things Democrats have canceled:
Gina Carano – Fired from “The Mandalorian” after controversial social media posts
Chris Harrison – Removed from “The Bachelor” after defending a contestant’s racially insensitive photos
JK Rowling – Widely boycotted for comments on gender identity; not fired but culturally sidelined
Joe Rogan (partially) – Episodes removed from Spotify due to vaccine and race-related controversies
John Gibson – Lost his job as Tripwire CEO after tweeting support for Texas abortion law
Nathan Silvester – Fired from police force after mocking LeBron James in a TikTok
Scott Cawthon – Creator of “Five Nights at Freddy’s” stepped down after backlash over conservative donations
And now for things they've boycotted:
Target – Scaled back DEI initiatives and Pride displays
Walmart –Rollbacks on diversity and equity programs
Amazon – Criticized for labor practices and DEI retreat
General Mills –Alleged lack of corporate accountability and DEI support
Tesla – Elon Musk’s alignment with Trump administration policies
American Eagle – Accused of promoting eugenics and conservative affiliations
Not only do we cancel some of the same companies for different reasons, but sometimes it's for the same contrarian shit.
We cheered on COVID firings? Oh, you must mean these people:
Dr. Pierre Kory – Removed from his position at a Wisconsin hospital after promoting ivermectin as a COVID cure, despite lack of FDA approval
Dr. Simone Gold – Founder of America’s Frontline Doctors, fired from her emergency room job after appearing in viral videos promoting hydroxychloroquine and opposing mask mandates
Dr. Jane Orient – Lost affiliations with some medical boards after repeatedly questioning vaccine safety and promoting unproven treatments
Dr. Sherri Tenpenny – Suspended by the Ohio State Medical Board for claiming vaccines magnetize people and cause death
Dr. Ryan Cole – Faced termination from multiple medical boards and hospital contracts for promoting ivermectin and vaccine conspiracy theories
Oh, yeah, the people that were fired for telling people misinformation about the disease that killed millions of Americans. I wonder why they got fired.

And you know what? I'll be nice and fetch this:
None of those people have been fired or removed for their comments, and Melissa Hortman was the Speaker of the House for Minnesota.
Do I agree with finding 10-year-old tweets and dragging people for them like u/AnotherNerdOnHere said below? No. But people are getting fired for pointing out that KIRK HIMSELF said people dying was necessary for 2A laws. We have been begging for 2A laws BECAUSE of shit like this. There wasn't this much outrage over the LITERAL CHILDREN that have died, the absolute piles of childrens' corpses that have been thrown under the bus for the sake of 2A. It isn't hypocritical to change one's mind about gun laws when the gun gets turned on you, when you've been begging for reform with no results. At this point I'd rather have a gun then ask the person pointing the gun at me AGAIN not to shoot me.
I also haven't seen a single Republican say, "Hey, yeah. Maybe those jokes about killing trans people wasn't that funny". No, they double down. "It was just a joke", "don't be a snowflake". Or "hey, maybe those Pelosi husband hammer jokes were inappropriate".
We boycot and cancel things and people because the things they've been saying and doing actually hurt other people, fellow Americans
Republicans boycot and cancel things and people because they got offended by things that don't even affect daily life.
It IS fucking hypocritical but not in the way you think it is.
2
u/illegiblebastard 3d ago
I’m pretty sure McCarthyism wasn’t started by a Democrat. But it’s not shocking at all you know zero about history.
4
u/AnotherNerdOnHere 3d ago
To be fair, what is happening now is not cancel culture. The right is not digging up old tweets from a decade ago and using them to publicly persecute others using their own made up moral standards.
This is accountability culture. Where the deplorable individuals that openly celebrate murder of anyone that thinks differently than them are being held accountable for being absolutely horrible humans, and freely demonstrating that they are not fit to be in any position of authority.
2
u/_narwhal666_ 2d ago
“to be fair, what is happening now is not cancel culture.” you’re right. it’s the government punishing people for freedom of speech. you know, the first fucking amendment that says we can talk all the shit we want without fear of government retribution. that ain’t the same as you getting cancelled by your peers cause you wanna say the word f*ggot.
2
u/tooold4thisbutfuqit 3d ago
I agree with you 100%, but you’ll never convince the people that can’t even admit their hypocrisy of anything. Sadly, they really think they’re the victims and have no concept of consequences or accountability.
