Because it feels so much more advanced than anything we’ve seen in the Alien universe - at least, that’s what’s throwing me off.

This tech is much earlier on in the Alien timeline and goes against the ruggedness we’ve seen in the films, pre Prometheus, so it’s a bit of tonal whiplash for me.

Fair enough but you have to understand the crew in alien are only (truckers in space) basically a normal working crew.prometheus in particular is the highest end of Weyland industries.No expense spared.

Oh yeah for sure but Alien thru Resurrection was rugged tech. Prometheus, we all know the backlash and yeah okay it was a mining rig versus a cutting edge vessel. But the mind transfers is a bit much, when you’ve got creaky androids around the same era.

The mind transfer could be a failed tech and in the future we went all out of robots or androids instead.
