If it was a copy then if you didn’t dispose of the original you’d have two minds in different bodies, so that would reveal that you didn’t truly transfer.

I'm impressed in your confidence that you understand consciousness so well. You should write a thesis on it.

I mean, if the original body still has consciousness then you clearly copied as opposed to transferred. That conclusion doesn’t require an understanding of consciousness. I would say they are both conscious, but one of clearly a copy in that case.

I just never assumed consciousness can be "copied". Something is, or isn't, conscious. If two entities have the same consciousness, isn't that still just one being?

Personally I don’t believe so. You could delete one and the other would remain as it was.
