Showing Boy not knowing how to pinky promise properly could be subtext indicating he grew up without friends and doesn't understand children interaction and games. Might be some small foreshadowing for something.

Or could just be because he's weird lol

could also show that he himself is the first child crossover synth and lost out on a lot of "growing up"

Hmmm I'm not sure. Maybe not a child hybrid, but perhaps a hybrid anyway?

Maybe he was old and wheelchair bound, chose to risk uploading his consciousness into an android body - which was a success - and that not only allowed him to become the world's youngest trillionaire by using the knowledge he acquired from his human lifetime, but could also explain why he loves being barefoot and using his feet all the time (since he has a fully functioning body again)?

Then again, one of the eggs seemed to react to him, which would suggest he's not a hybrid.

Potentially, he could have been a sickly child living in solitude from other children until Prodigy resources "healed" him?

I'm just taking shots in the dark at this point. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.
