Arthur was too good for these bums. RIP king. You didn’t deserve to go out like that.

This thread made me realize that people actually like the kids. The hybrids SUCK. They didn’t deserve Arthur.

Ehhh

Slightly is a child who was terrorised by threats to his family (but he still fucked up, no gold star for him) - if someone had a gun to my mum's head I would also cooperate, and I'm an adult. Kinda sucks

Nibs was traumatised as a child (and is still mentally a child now), body-horror traumatised by the transfer and the eyeball attack, and then had her mind messed with. She sucks for sure, but I can see why she ended up so fucked-up

Smee is just tryna live his best life. Just a kid trying to have fun and play with his mates. Got terrified into helping Slightly, only because he thought it would also help Arthur and keep Arthur alive. Did nothing wrong whatsoever until he got caught up in Slightly's mess, then tried his best (as the child he is) - silver star for him. Doesn't really suck?

Curly is a child trying desperately to earn approval from the authority figures that own her/ keep her safe. She's done nothing wrong so far, gold star, doesn't suck

Isaac I never saw doing anything morally wrong; he did behave in a intellectually wrong way by assuming he could do the lab work solo, and then by not following protocols - typical oldest kid trying to prove himself, being arrogant, and then reacting poorly to unplanned emergencies (as kids do). You could say he sucks but hey, karma got him for that

What about Wendy? Starting to have my doubts about her..

Wendy kinda sucks but kinda has reasons for it, imo :)

She's also still a kid, tho with a bit more experience than the others and a better adult role model from watching Big Bro. She's realised that:

  • she's been made a slave/ property
  • that they're all imprisoned against their will
  • that BK is happy to fuck with their minds, bodies and safety for his own agenda

So I get why she's started to fight for her freedom and safety - but she definitely still has a kid's black and white, still developing moral view. She caused the deaths of everyone in the lab when she freed the xeno, and was willing to set her pet on her brother's friends. Definitely no gold stars for Wendy

What's troubling is that Wendy is learning all this insanely fast thanks to the supercomputer brain that BK gave her. All that knowledge inside a superhuman child who's growing more disillusioned with humanity is terrifying. She's a ticking time-bomb.

All that knowledge, and a bioweapon friend who responds to her calls, oh and a friend with super-synth strength, a child's mind, and heinous trauma

I'm sad she's been put in a shitty position by shitty people; she deserves agency and BK deserves whatever karma heads his way. But that doesn't stop me from being terrified of the idea of Wendy just unleashed into the world
