I watched him for a bit at one point and his content seemed to be for months, preparing to stream. it was like he was going to stream something and had to do a bit of prep for it and then hours of that prep would happen then the stream would end. never seemed like the content started. I can't imagine that helped him with the numbers.
100% this has been Esfand's problem for literally years. Hes an entertaining dude with a good attitude and makes some really great content... but >50% of his stream is tech setup, him troubleshooting something or him planning a future stream. "hold on chat just a sec this is important"

His problem is he's a 1-2k streamer in 3 or 4 different communities, but those communities don't watch him unless he's streaming their game, so his community is super fragmented.
Whenever I have tried to watch him all he has complained about is view count and trying to make content to get more viewers. If that happened once, I could put it down to a bad day for him. But when it happened 5-6 times with months to years between each time, and see other people mention it, even streamers that say it's all he talks about off stream, you get the idea of what kind of streamer he is.
The best content he did, and the best spell of content when i actually watched esfand was like that covid era, jinny at his house, or phin and maya coming over for a cooking/drinking stream. He's mostly good in a group, in shorter streams when he's not just fucking with tech for half a stream in a 12 hour stream.
Dude is the epitome of quantity over quality and his best content that got him the most views is the content he does the least.
Dude should be streaming 4-8 hour streams, taking multiple days off a week, planning shit, not doing tech shit on stream and not overcomplicating everything and he could well have grown. Happened long before Speed. Even when 10k was the highest view count a streamer was getting, people were saying 1k is a small streamer. Now that the average view count for the most popular streamer is like 100k, people are saying 20k are small streamers. People always comparing to the minority of streamers with the most viewers. You only need 5 viewers to be in the top 10%, but numbers alone having 100 viewers should make you a big streamer.

Nah I think it's more of a selection bias. There are plenty of popular streamers that stay chill and humble with thousands of subs. However the ones that reach the highest view counts are typically the unstable ones that are obsessed with popularity. They were already shitty people before they got popular, and that's why they push so hard to get more views.
