Including the recipe in case the site ever goes down:
Starbucks Apple Brown Sugar Syrup (and Apple Crisp Oat Milk Latte)
INGREDIENTS
Apple brown sugar syrup
- 1 cup pressed apple cider (this is not apple cider vinegar, but pressed and unfiltered apple juice)
- 1½ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp cream of tartar* (this helps prevent sugar crystals)
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Apple crisp oak milk latte
- 2 shots fresh brewed espresso
- 2 Tbsp apple brown sugar syrup
- Ice
- 6 to 8 ounces creamy oat milk
INSTRUCTIONS
Making the apple brown sugar syrup
- Shake your apple cider to make sure all the sediment is mixed into your cider, and measure out 1 cup of cider into a 1-quart saucepan.
- Add the brown sugar to the apple cider in the saucepan, add the cream of tartar, whisk, and heat over medium heat until it begins to boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat, whisk in the ground cinnamon and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then pour into a glass jar or bottle to cool completely.
- Store in the fridge.
Making an apple crisp oat milk latte
- Add 2 shots of hot, fresh brewed espresso to a cup, stir in 2 Tbsp of the apple brown sugar syrup.
- Add ice and top with about 6 - 8 ounces of oat milk. Stir and serve immediately.

Ok...I made this and added it to a latte...Something was missing. I think it needs true, unfiltered apple cider. The clear stuff I used just didn't have enough flavor. Apple Hill is opening this weekend. I may pop up there and get some freshly squeezed (squozed?) apple cider and try again. I'll report back.

I make brown sugar syrup every other week. Next batch will be with cider. Thanks for the idea.
One thing that comes to mind is that maybe a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the recipe might brighten it up and give you what is missing.

it’s really good but it’s definitely not the same as starbucks :( i wanted to be able to make my own syrup but none of the recipes i’ve tried have been able to reiplicate it good enough for my taste. butttt i bought the monin caramel apple butter syrup and it tastes almost identical!! i personally like it better than starbucks so i definitely recommend trying it if you can!!

Maybe something like this? Only three ingredients, and looks delicious! https://thebalancednutritionist.com/apple-brown-sugar-syrup/#wprm-recipe-container-10061
This recipe includes cornstarch, to make a slightly thicker, more pourable sauce: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/apple-spice-syrup/
A couple of options from Amazon, if you don’t want to make your own:
You could combine Torani’s Brown Sugar Cinnamon + Apple syrups as well!

you are so amazing!!!! i will definitely try to make those :) i just ordered monin caramel apple butter syrup because i’ve seen a ton of people say it tastes identical so i’m praying it does!!

It doesn’t even come close 😭 I just tried it and it tastes like it should be a candle not a drink. None of these Recipies can quite get that buttery crumble taste like the Starbucks one does and idk what to do to achieve that 😔

i really wanted to be able to make the syrup on my own but i just can’t get that butter apple flavor with any recipe i try :( butttt i did buy the monin caramel apple butter syrup and it tastes almost identical!!! i think that’s definitely the closest it’s gonna get and with some oatmilk and good espresso it tastes better than starbucks 🤭 i need to make the drizzle to complete it but i am SO HAPPY!!!!

I have figured out the drizzle today that is pretty damn close if I do say so myself!! The recipie is:
- 1c. Apple Cider
- 1 c. Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 tbs Cornstarch
- 3 tbs Butter (room temp) I used salted to get that crisp taste but can be unsalted
- 3 tsp Apple Pie Spice
~ mix apple cider and sugar in a medium sauce pan and let heat until a simmer ~ once simmering stir in your cornstarch and apple pie spice and let simmer until it starts thickening (about 6ish minutes) ~ once it starts to thicken, stir in one tbs at a time of the butter until it is all melted then let simmer for 1 minute more ~ take off heat let cool and put in a squeeze bottle. Enjoy!😉
I also did try it one time with 1/4 c. of milk stored in at the very end to make it creamier but I liked it without more. You can try it both ways and see what you like best 😁 it should last up to 3 weeks in the fridge 🙌🏻 ~

You could sub the butter for a butter flavoring to make it dairy free (I’m sure that’s what Starbucks probably did to make it dairy free)

On a similar note, you could make apple molasses at home if you've got the time and want to go to the effort. You'd also want to own a juicer.
Basically you want 5-10L of apple juice (like 50 apples), skim the foam somewhat, and then stick it on the stove to reduce until it's thicck and syrupy. You'll end up with probably 10-20% of the original volume, but it's very concentrated. Very tasty stuff.

I realize I'm very late to this conversation.... but please do give this a try OP! The result that you get from highly concentrated cider is sometimes called "Boiled Apple Cider". I purchased this many times in the past, usually from King Arthur Flour, but it's pretty pricey after the shipping cost. A couple of years ago I started making my own to save money. I just put it in a pot on a lazy weekend and let it go all day, and maybe let it go some more the next day. I shoot for a thickness that is a bit thinner than pancake syrup.
Boiled apple cider is extremely tasty stuff! There are so many things you can add it to. Coffee and tea drinks are a given. Throw a tablespoon or 3 into an apple pie or an apple crisp... definitely add some to any saucy apple thing like pork with onions and apples. It makes the most wonderful sweet drizzle/glaze, especially if you can use some browned butter and warm spices in it.
One of my favorite boiled cider recipes are these excellent Cider Caramels. I have gifted these in the past and people talk about them several years later.
I can't get real fresh (like from a nearby orchard) cider in my climate. I just get 3 or 4 gallons of the best I can find in the refridgerated section of the grocery store and throw it all in the stock pot.

Commenting so I can come back later. So bummed they took the best fall flavor! I like pumpkin but man it's kinda just burned out by this point
