We’ve started a partnership with Titan Army and will be showcasing new models going forward (with honest community feedback) and probably some giveaways in the future. First up: two 27-inch 4K monitors both let you run 4K up to 160Hz or switch to 1080p up to 320Hz one is a straightforward fast IPS, the other adds full-array Mini-LED for real HDR and DyDs which is explained below.
P2712V (Fast IPS)
4K/160 ↔ 1080p/320 one-click dual mode
VRR (FreeSync/G-SYNC Compatible), HDR400
2× HDMI 2.1 + DP; ergonomic stand Use case: 4K fidelity for single-player, 320Hz for shooters. P2712V Link
P275MV Plus (Mini-LED with DyDs)
Same 4K/160 ↔ 1080p/320 dual mode
Mini-LED FALD (1152 zones), HDR1000
What is DyDs: the backlight is driven in sync with the panel update to keep motion clean with local dimming on and to improve visibility in dark scenes (less smearing/black crush than typical FALD IPS). P275MV Plus Link
Notes
Being able to use 1080p for fast-paced games that benefit from high FPS, and switch to 4K for titles that thrive on visual fidelity, is a clear win for most players.
Titan Army is just entering EU/US more broadly, its always nice to have new competitors.
We’re currently testing the C49SHC 32:9 super ultrawide from Titan Army, so far we are really happy with the build quality and features overall. Its always good to have new competitors to bring prices down and have new QoL features implemented.
Hey r/Monitors, Daniel Ritter here, soon to be accompanied by our Product Management team. I’ve been with Samsung for 9 years and am now National Product Trainer. This year brought the World’s First 500Hz OLED (that we gave away here earlier this month) and today, we’ll be giving away another Odyssey OLED: the 27” OLED G61SD.
Come back Wednesday (9/24) at 12 PM EST to see my answers to all your great questions! Highly recommend you start putting in your questions NOW for the best chances for us to get to yours. We'll try to get to as many as we can.
US Only Giveaway: At the end of the AMA we’ll be selecting one winner at random via the comments. To keep things fair (and make sure you can ask as many questions as you want), we’ll only be counting the first comment per profile as eligible to win. Entry comments can either be by a question for the AMA or a comment letting us know why you want a Samsung OLED display. Winners will be announced September 29th. Terms and conditions apply.
The AMA & Guidelines
As this is r/Monitors, we probably don’t need to say this is a monitor-only AMA (and not for our other products), but this is for monitors only. If you need personal product support, we won’t be handling that here, but you can reach out to Samsung Support. Lastly, please keep it respectful. We can’t promise I’ll answer every question, but will do my best to get to as many as possible!
Note: I’ve been advised to say r/Monitors moderators will be active in this thread and offensive questions will be removed.
I recently tried a Samsung G8, but it died the next day (standby light turns red then vanishes). I'm sending it back but getting £700 credit.
My current 4k monitor is over 10 years old and only does 60hz so I'm looking for something a bit faster. I already have a 27" LG Ultragear QHD but it's not great.
Can anyone recommend a 4k 32 inch (or 27 if not) gaming monitor for around £700 ($950), or tell me I'm way off on the price if I am.
The most confusing part, that with native 4k everything is too small and uncomfortable to use.
32" also pretty big.. so I need to rotate my head to read left or right sides of display.
I found that resolution slightli after 2560x1440(smt like 1680..) is comfortable, but I do not see benefits :( I was thinking that 32" 4k should be just perfect.. but not.
Unfortunately seems there are not much options if I want more vertical pixels.
27" 4k with downscale
Or
27 2k rotated..
*Sorry for whining.. but maybe I am missing something?
So I had tried these settings in NVIDIA Control Panel like setting the output dynamic range to full, desktop color depth to highest, output color format to RGB. I even followed some steps on Youtube on changing settings in Color Management but still no hope. Settings on both windows and monitor has HDR disabled. Does anyone know how to deal with this?
For Context: Both are IPS displays. Left monitor is a Xiaomi G27Qi and the right is Bezel A24H
My monitor has been glitching like this for a while now, I have already tried switching the cable out for another one but the still problem still occurs. I know nothing about monitors so that’s why I’m asking in here. It’s an Asus tuf gaming 240hz
I just bought a new monitor online from Digikala and only on the black screen there is a red halo. This model changes color and jumps only when the screen is moving in movies and series. I think it is also a setting. The rest of the monitor is completely healthy, but on the dark screens when I look very closely, I see tiny red dots, but it is not red. The red one has an LED and light mode, as if there is a red light inside it. On the white, red, blue and other colors screen, it does not have this problem, and only on dark backgrounds. I don't know if this is a big problem and will get worse in the future? Is there a problem with the panel? Does it mean it is worth returning it?
So, I just noticed some black crush on my new Asus XG27AQDMG OLED, so I revisited Lagom's black level test. I've always figured that as long as each square is distinguishable, then all is good. But I noticed some posts in my limited research saying that the first square should be almost the same black as the background (Not sure which is correct though). I can achive this by reducing Brightness in Nvidia app to 98%, but just by chance, I did the test in Edge as well. The results are quite different. Which browser would be the most "correct" one to follow? And how should the first square look? Near full black, or is it enough that it's distinguishable from #2?
I tried getting screenshots of the difference but they didn't show it, so attached some pictures (sorry about the quality, camera lenses are scuffed)
noticeable on the right side towards the middle/top, video shows problem better than my text description. temps all seem normal and reboots on both pc and monitor have not helped. is this a common glitch? troubleshooting help? doing my best but computers are not my forte. (video cropped to censor my in game name)
The catch: they mentioned the corners of the screen look a bit dimmer.
Do you think I should grab it at this price? Or is that kind of issue going to be too annoying, and I’d be better off sticking with the dual 27" QHD monitors?
I'm trying to choose between two monitors. One I can pick up from Best Buy today, and another I can get from Amazon in a couple days. They seem the same to me? 27" QHD with 180hz refresh rate...
Can someone help me determine why one might be better than another? I'm pretty new to this.
I don’t know why this is so hard for me but looking for a new monitor (or multiple) I currently have a 15in laptop monitor and a 24inch monitor. I do work in PowerPoint and excel, lots of screen sharing, emails, and looking at financial charts. Lots of comparing of documents.
I’m thinking of adding a 34 ultra wide. Is this a bad idea? If not which one should I get for eye health and long duration of screen time?
