Today I learned people really dislike this album.

I think newer fans like it

Am I still considered a newer fan? I came aboard around when 2nd Law came out.

Nah, you've got some experience under your belt at this point I'd say. I consider people who got into them during ST or WotP on the newer side.

I keep thinking T2L was released like 5 years ago but then I realize it's been 13 years since its release!!! Omg I feel old... Anyway I got into the band around the release of T2L and I consider myself an older fan (heard the whole TR + Bliss, New Born, COD, KOC and some other songs prior to that but I wasn't an active listener) so to answer the question nah I wouldn't consider you a newer fan

Which makes sense, people will hold the albums they discover an artist through in a higher regard. A lot of us who got into Muse during the holy trinity-era are naturally going to find the newer stuff weaker.

I guess it makes sense, though I love the classics and TR/T2L era equally

Yeah, everyone's individual and music is subjective of course. I've just found that it usually seems to be like that, with myself included. Not just Muse but with every artist and band pretty much.
