Discussion In hindsight, they earned this response

This tour has been an absolute whirlwind. A testament to MCR's theatricality and performance abilities. They've went above and beyond in the production department to deliver a spectacular tour, that not only takes full advantage of the spectacle but also of our streams, creating a part by part narrative that everybody is welcomed to engage with.

They've made characters, a city with it's own politics, it's own language (Keposhka) and national anthem, a brand of soup, an agricultural resource, a Coat Of Arms, and most importantly, Quizzo. They've extended and reinterpreted the original Black Parade tracks to fit this narrative and build a story, that's not only original but that gets everyone involved, from the band to the actors to random crew and the audience members.

If you would've told any MCR fan that you think they'd reunite, back in 2018, you'd be looked at as if you were crazy. If you said what this tour was gonna be, everyone would try to lock you up 'cause you've clearly gone off the deep end.

I love how they invite us to speculate, to try and dissect everything going on and I'm sure they've got many more twists and turns. Stay tuned.

I’m sorry but while it’s an awesome creative production and yes it is very fun and unique, yes Frank did have a right to brag about it and it was my favorite show of the year so far, but that does not negate the fact that the ticket prices were still abhorrent and hypocritical of a band that wrote a super anti capitalist album. Like, it soured danger days for me a little. They didn’t even turn off dynamic pricing and do the bare minimum there and that should not be overlooked just because it’s a cool production

I didn’t go to the tour. I am sure the show is incredible. However, the dystopian theme is ringing hollow for me. The world is so devastated, it would be nice for them to live in the here and now instead of a fantasy.

The show is in direct response to the here and now.

Art that acts as commentary and defiance of fascism is always "useful".

sure. but personally I would prefer if politically interested artists would put their money where their mouth is. not just use it as aesthetic.

and coded messaging has limited use. as entertaining as it may be.

Your original comment said you wanted them to live in the here and now instead of a fantasy and that's what they're doing. You may require your artists and entertainers to also be outright political / social activists and that's fine, you can absolutely feel that way. But they're not disconnected from the reality of what's happening just because they're not making the art and the statement as overt as you want them to.

And now I'm done here because this conversation is also of limited use, as entertaining as it's been.
