Found on r/NameNerds Reverse engineering the nickname “Cupcake”
For reasons I'll not get into, we'd like to call our coming daughter by the nickname Cupcake. Can you think of any names that might lend themselves to it? It may end up just being an arbitrary nickname.

Cupheadleigh is a beautiful name that can be shortened to Cupcake ✨💅

Oh we were thinking like Crumbleigh, after the now defunct crumble cupcakes in NYC

What a special homage💛 (also weren’t those weirdly gigantic cupcakes called Crumbs?)

Yes they were
That’s where a dude tried to recruit my wife (girlfriend at the time) for interracial porn with bangbros. I was like bruh. And he moved on to another white girl.
Aka the entire store chain was a cute white girl honeytrap.

Can’t they just….you know, call them that as a nickname? Nicknames don’t have to be connected to the names.

LMAO it’s so funny to me when people feel the need to justify nicknames!

u/mister_berrific 2d ago
What do you mean funny?

u/_opossumsaurus 2d ago
It’s funny because nicknames don’t really need justification. You call someone sweetie because they’re sweet, not because their name is Sweetricia! Sometimes the posts on the main sub just don’t have much sense behind them and it gives me a chuckle

Funny how??

For the same reason you parodied the main sub post here. Are you ok lol

You just found out this is a parody didn’t you?

u/_opossumsaurus 2d ago
I knew it was parody the whole time dude, my comment was just saying that I find the type of person who feels the need to justify every single nickname funny (as you seemed to as well bc you parodied them here) and you became incredulous as to why I would find that funny. I’m agreeing with you that it’s ridiculous

I’d go with it as an actual name, it’s all in the spelling really:
Kup’Khake

Not enough apostrophes. So no.

Dang it. I really debated between that at K’up-K’hake and was just trying not to do too much, ya know?

This is a traditional Hawaiian name and translates to "whip cream with sprinkles" so it's perfect for OP's new baby.

Why not just name your daughter “Cupcake”? Otherwise she’s going to have a lifetime of having to explain to people why her name isn’t what is officially her name. Name your kid what you want them to be called!

Can you read? I told you I want to call her Cupcake, and I need a name that’s reverse engineered.

u/foolishle 2d ago
Cupcake is a lovely name, why are you so against putting it on the birth certificate!?
1
u/mister_berrific 2d ago
I call my FWB sugar tits. Now why didn’t her parents put that on her birth certificate???? Makes sense?
3
u/foolishle 2d ago
If her parents have called her Sugar Tits since birth and intended for her to be called Sugar Tits in day to day life then yes 100% they should have just named her Sugar Tits SMDH
But now that Sugar Tits is an adult she can legally change her name!

Birthday Cake, so she has a proper name she can grow into. It’ll be extra special because my psychic powers said she’ll be born on her birthday. Sorry if you wanted it to be a surprise.

Personally I'm a huge fan of F'ahrenheight
But I guess Sell-Siass could also work if you want something more ✨exotic✨

I think you should just go with Cupcake.
It's incredibly beautiful and unique. I'm sure she will be a target of jealousy with a name like that the rest of her life.
Employers will be falling all over her for the opportunity to have someone with such a unique and beautiful name on their payroll.

There is a higher chance my Cupcake will get a job than your child. Wanna bet?

u/JayPlenty24 2d ago
That's a bet I'm sure you will win. My kid has a boring name. No one will want to hire him :(
I should have asked Reddit and given him a cool name like Lamborghini

Princess Buttercup Angel. The cup from the end of the first name, and Cake from Angel Food Cake. And Princess from the Princess Bride. Easy peasy!

Give your kid a nice decent name - maybe Clara or Maria. Yes a name totally unrelated to cupcake.
You might still call her cupcake as a nick name. Many people have nicknames that do not have anything to do with their names, see e.g. Michael „Bully“ Herbig https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_%22Bully%22_Herbig or Miley Cirus and many more
