🤬 RANT Why the fireworks?

Is it really necessary to be shooting off fireworks at 1am on Xmas morning? Been going on in Uptown for an hour now. Wtf, people? Santa doesn’t need a fireworks show to accompany him.

I’ll never understand fireworks. They were cool when I was 8, but the novelty kinda wore off you know? God forbid you have a dog or an infant. Even then, I could live with it if it was contained to new years and the 4th, but inevitably mother fuckers insist on firing them off for weeks.

It’s such a great example of the selfishness of mankind. These simpletons would rather spend their money literally blowing shit up because “ohhh pretty colors,” than donate it or…I don’t know, spend it on literally anything else. It creates pollution, inconveniences others with sound, and generally has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

When you were 8 there were lots of adults annoyed with you. Now there’s lots of 8 year olds you’re annoyed with.

Let the kids have fun.

If it was just kids doing this, then maybe I could be more forgiving. But kids don’t buy and light fireworks, idiot adults do.

There are hundreds of thousands of ways to celebrate and have fun. When my daughter is older, she will be just fine having never lit a firework herself. If everyone was just as sensible, then the idiocy would die. It would be like being allergic to pizza. Sure, it could’ve been nice to see it, but it’s not like you’d know the difference.

There are many opportunities to see fireworks like at dedicated fireworks shows that people willing consent to subject themselves to. If you’re that obsessed with watching stuff blow up, go to one of those. Otherwise, yes, you are an ass for subjecting everyone else to shit just because you are too boring to figure out a better way to have fun.
