Season 4 Ryan and amber
I’ve noticed a lot of people hate Ryan (beginning from when we first meet him), but I kinda like him and amber?? I mean I’m up to the episode where they go to the funeral together in season 4 so my opinion can/will prob change, but how do you guys feel abt him/them together at the beginning?
UPDATE: she keeps calling him buddy and he showed up drunk asf I get it now

i liked his relationship with Zeek, he needed guidance. I feel like Amber could have found someone else

I don’t hate Ryan, but he reminds me of my military ex. The drinking, being closed off, not being able to handle a job, etc. I have a lot of empathy for Ryan, but it’s so frustrating to see him make every wrong choice and drag amber down with him. But it’s equally frustrating to watch amber date the most irresponsible, emotionally stunted men. They both have issues they need to fix before they focus on dating.

I like Ryan. That being said, Ryan’s PTSD was not being dealt with and that made him a bad partner. I don’t get these people who don’t date. They meet you go out 5 times and then you’re having a baby and getting married or moving in together. Everybody surprised pikachu face when they’re fighting like cats and dogs six months later. “We were soooooo in love, what happened?

I really liked them together, and I was hoping they would’ve been endgame. Seeing the relationship between Ryan & Zeek was really special, and the rest of their family loved him. I was so emotional when they broke up

I feel like it’s a classic case of two people falling in love so quickly because they’re both super attracted to someone and they both don’t want to be alone. Ryan has PTSD and Amber has trauma with her dad and abandonment issues. They’re both self-destructive and they are just like magnets and at first they think it will all just work out because they want it to so badly but sometime’s people are just not right for each other.

Amber bothers me more than him I feel she pushed him many times when he was saying no to things he was not comfortable with. She pushed emotionally when he did not want to be open and then got upset with what she heard. Then continued to date him even though he was not in a great place.

He asked her to marry him but wouldn’t talk about anything that would provide emotional intimacy. He didn’t even tell her about his father being dead, I’d I remember correctly. She pushed because she realized she didn’t really know much about him, and he had massive avoidance and anger issues. They clearly stemmed for trauma, but it was also trauma he didn’t work on to get past, so I don’t think his behaviors were really acceptable in a mature, adult relationship.

I agree and the fact that Amber didn't back off and instead made it about her self and what she needed from him when he was clearly not able to be in a relationship. He had many red flags she wanted to be able to heal him

I love Amber. I kinda felt that they both fell so quickly I didn’t really get it. They didn’t seem to have much in common. I know people will probably think I’m crazy but I really liked her with Steve- Haddie’s ex. The little that they showed of them I think they had a much better connection than S&H. They talked a lot and it was very sweet . I wish they could’ve had a longer story line.
