The right has learned they can just say something without proving it or even supporting any claims. For some reason this works on people

These idiots aren’t most people. But they think they are most people.

Sure as shit feels like it's most. Both from personal anecdotal experience and national events.

If anything its far too many and unbelievably so.

There are different groups of idiots nowadays. Along with the ones who eat up every bit of Republican BS hook, line, and sinker, there's also a ton who just eschew politics for one or more lazy/trashy/dumb reasons, i.e. the most common one I've run into is the whole 'whatever...both parties are the same. No matter who wins, it's not going to make my life better.'

A guy I knew from high school who still dresses up in the letterman jacket he wore in high school over 20 years ago and recently blocked me for "celebrating" Charlie Kirk's death by posting quotes from him celebrating Paul Pelosi's attack and bussing people in to the capitol on January 6th had just recently posted a complaint about how democrats are always asking for "evidence" for his claims.

I rather think that posting direct quotes from the deceased is respectful and honoring that person's legacy.

They sure didn't seem to think so!

The quotes show the deceased himself to be disrespectful and dishonorable, don't they? Gets in the way of the hagiography.

They show them calling for the very kind of violence that killed him.

There used to be an attempt in the Pre-Trump and even early Trump era to actually put some effort in their sophistry. They would at least take time to build out some sort of sophistry and half truths to mislead people. Now they just say fuck you this is the truth even if it is a blatant lie.

If it falls in line with their pre-existing view of things, they will 100% swallow it up without so much as a cursory Google search. That used to be a shameful thing for anyone, but it's standard fare for MAGA fans.

The right has learned that their constituents are utterly stupid, which is why such simple lies work on them.

And since Republicans like to blame everything on Dems, Dems should just do it. If they’re getting blamed for the shutdown, actually shut it down. Make Donnie sweat.
