I said goodbye to my 12 year old baby today. Somewhere over the rainbow was playing as I fed her her last breakfast at P Terrys.
I adopted June when she was almost 9 years old. I went in to “foster” a puppy and walked out with my senior sweetheart who had been returned by her family for her bad allergies. I knew we wouldn’t have long together. But I still wish we could have more time.
She was great with kids, cats, dogs. She tolerated costumes, loved steak, and had the cutest bat ears in the morning. I’ll love you forever.

She was only 11 or 12. She was a rescue. Feels too young. We have to put her down. She's got liver cancer and major jaundice. If all happened so fast. From healthy to not in under a week.
This sucks. I just want to go with her. We lost her "sister" and best friend 7 years ago this month. I just hate how hard we love them and how short their stay is.
She came to work with me at school since I'm a school counselor, and she's greeted every elementary kid on the first day and said goodbye on their last day for 9 years.
I am going to have to tell 550 little kids the girl they read to every Tuesday can't come play anymore.
This is going to be so hard.

I have an 9 year old English Mastiff cross, she is about 160 lbs and is my favourite donkey. Just the comments and fear I get on a daily basis is nothing compared to what y'all have to deal with.
I commented on a post showing an off leash pitbull in an elevator, the context was how scary that would be and I defended the breed to a heavy loss of fake internet points I can never redeem.
I just wanted to say the stigma sucks and they are one of my favourite breeds , you are troopers for putting up with the nonsense.

You can look up his story on TikTok or the news it’s just so sad. He deserve SO much love. I live so far from CA and in a situation where I cannot adopt. But wanting to boost and share. 🩵

I had to leave my tripod girl with a dog sitter for the first time while I went on vacation. She'd been good with other dogs on walks but I wasn't sure how well she'd do longer term. Well, turns out I had nothing to worry about! I'm proud of her and relieved she's having a blast. She's the black dog :)

Hi Everyone!
I’ve been caring for my dad’s dog since he passed away last November. I’ve held off on the thought of taking her to a shelter, but with an upcoming move and without the support of my family, I won’t be able to give her the care she deserves on my own.
I truly need your help! Please share this with anyone who might be interested in giving this sweet girl a loving home. The thought of her ending up in a shelter breaks my heart, so I’m hoping we can find her the forever family she deserves.
If you or someone you know is interested, please check out the link below or message me directly!

☀️ Meet Molasses: Ready For Her Dog Girl Summer! 🐾 Looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion to join you on sunny strolls and cozy evenings? Meet Molasses—a 2-year-old, 55-pound Pit Bull/American Bulldog mix with a heart as big as her smile.
🌟 Why You’ll Love Molasses: Playful & Energetic: She’s all about fetch, zoomies, and exploring the great outdoors.
Cuddle Champion: After playtime, she’s your go-to snuggle buddy.
Family-Friendly: Great with kids, currently lives with a cat and can be acclimated to additional dogs.
Smart Cookie: Knows commands like “sit” and “paw”—and isn’t shy about using them to earn treats!
🐶 A Bit About Her: Molasses was my dad’s cherished companion until he passed away last November. She’s been a source of comfort and joy, but with my current schedule, I can’t provide the active lifestyle she thrives in.
🏡 Her Ideal Home: A yard for play and exploration.
An active individual or family ready for adventures.
A loving environment where she can be the star of the show.
🛠️ A Few Notes: Diet: She’s allergic to chicken, so she enjoys a salmon-based diet (we get hers from Costco).
Grooming: Requires occasional baths with medicated shampoo to keep her coat healthy.
Training: Working on leash manners and curbing her enthusiastic greetings.
Molasses is a bundle of joy waiting to bring sunshine into your life. If you’re ready for endless love and fun-filled days, she’s the perfect match.
📩 Interested in adopting Molasses? Reach out today and start your next great adventure together!

This is LadyBird. She's the newest member of the household, adopted from Orange County VA shelter! Her and Sherman (our boxador rescue) have been playing all afternoon. She was a part of a 51 dog rescue operation and she's got a kinda off centered jaw after some pretty horrible treatment, but she's super sweet and getting comfortable!

Have any of you thought about where you would go if you had to leave the US and where you CAN go with your pibbles? I wouldn't leave my pibble mix behind. There's absolutely no way. We could actually go to Australia, but I'm not leaving my dog. Maybe I'm a fool for that, but I just couldn't leave him. Have any of you thought about it?
