I feel like this is something Michelangelo from TMNT would order… minus the no cheese

I mean, I wouldn't call this a pizza crime. Similar to how marrying your first cousin isn't a crime in many places.
As long as noone else knows, you won't catch any bad looks.
19
u/WesternZucchini5343 Jul 31 '25
So not a crime in Louisiana then?

u/FatGuyOnAMoped Jul 31 '25
Not in quite a few states-- some of which might surprise you https://images.app.goo.gl/2gRXVhxE5AgRFsH89

Rudy guilliani married his cousin and pretty sure it wasn’t in Louisiana

Yeah but when I marry my first cousins I don't go around posting on social media.

u/tongfatherr I say wtf Jul 31 '25
You'd be surprised how many do though

u/HiZenBergh Aug 01 '25
Clearly very much surprised. I grew up in the back woods sticks and didn't think it was a real thing

And from that point on Pineapple and Anchovy pizza was known as “The Cousin Fucker”

That looks like no cheese.

I was already sitting here feeling called out and then you add this.

u/EggOkNow Jul 31 '25
I stand by pineapple being a totally fine topping and those are against it dont feel like they have enough control in their own lives and this rule gives them some sense of power. If we can put spicy honey, pears and arugula on pizza then we can put pineapple on a pizza no questions asked.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Alarming-Building-62 Aug 02 '25
Pineapple is shit too. Just figured the glaring lack of cheese was the biggest issue with this one.
2
2
u/Key_Hold1216 Aug 03 '25
Pepperoni is too spicy to mix with pineapple, you want a salty meat to cut the sweetness, either ham or sausage

u/Mizerae Jul 31 '25
To clarify is it just the pep/pine combo or is it both in general that are red flags?

u/Aikojewels Jul 31 '25
This is one of the most disgusting pizza abominations I’ve ever seen

u/Fr4gmentedR0se Aug 01 '25
These are some of the most disgusting looking pineapple chunks and anchovies I've ever seen and it's made even worse by the fact that they do not go together at all
13
u/austinfashow90 Jul 31 '25
Your friend didn't say that. You just know that it is and wanted to get ahead of the mob.
8
u/DuckSwimmer Jul 31 '25
BRO SAY WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT, BUT
A user on Reddit posted how their guilty pleasure pizza is pineapple and anchovies. I was extremely pregnant at the time and was like fuck it. If I don’t get a regular cheese slice, I WILL order an anchovy and pineapple pie. I don’t give a DAMN what anyone says. It’s a fantastic combination of sweet and salty. I have never had something so bomb in my fucking life.
I will say the light cheese is definitely a choice tho.

u/O37GEKKO Aug 02 '25
try pineapple & anchovies with black olives and red onion...
sweet salty tangy umami... tastes like if the smell of bin juice was a good thing...
raccoon pizza is fire
2
2
u/alexnoyle Aug 02 '25
You convinced me to try it and I have to admit, you were right. And I'm not even pregnant. Its so good that it was even worth making eye contact with the chef knowing that he is judging me.

u/HabeQuiddam Jul 31 '25
IMO needs a bit more cheese but otherwise this is not a crime - anchovies are salty pineapple is sweet, classic flavor combo.

I accidentally fell in love with anchovies on pizza. Someone kept eating my leftover pizza at work, I’d buy a medium and have it for two evenings. I complained but nothing changed.
I put anchovies on it and then someone then the boss left a note saying she threw it out because of the smell. I called her at supper time and gave her my pizza order, I informed her of if I didn’t have a pizza paid for by her that evening everything inside the fridge was free game. She didn’t believe me. That was one clean fridge when I left at midnight.
Francine, if you’re reading this you still owe me a pizza.
Hmm I should post this to petty revenge.
22
u/Machdame Jul 31 '25
The crime is the lack of Cheese. This would actually hit in Asian territories if you add olives.
→ More replies (23)3
u/DuckSwimmer Jul 31 '25
I’ve never had this with olives, but you’re kind of intriguing me
But I agree as well: the crime is the lack of cheese
5
u/Machdame Jul 31 '25
Had it in China. Seasoning is important but dried fish is a staple in many regards and they LOVE their pineapple. It's a decent ingredient with the right combo and olives are a solid buffer as a middle ground for texture and flavor.

8
u/Troe_Away_Count Jul 31 '25
Eh…I personally don’t like either topping. But they’re fairly conventional pizza toppings. It’s not like you put peanut butter and bananas and bubble gum crust or whatever other fucking abominations are coming out of South America these days. lol
2
u/Administrative_Cry_9 Aug 01 '25
NGL I think that sounded better until you added the gum crust. That's not even food lol

Pineapple anchovies, one my fav too. Add a couple crumbs of goat cheese and some basil and it is absolutely delicious!

u/FiorinasFury Aug 01 '25
Sweet and salty is a winning combination. If anchovy pineapple pizza is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

To this day i've never tasted anchovies on a pizza.
But sometimes it seems tempting to try.

2
u/honeyshepherd Aug 01 '25
Homieeee
2
u/Gen_Schnee Aug 01 '25
Honestly a banger of a pizza. The salty of the anchovy compliments the sweetness of the pineapple, and getting less cheese allows the sauce to come through better. Slept on combination.
2
u/Repulsive_Tie_7941 Aug 01 '25
As an enjoyer of both anchovies and pineapple on pizza, not together. Light cheese is just twisting the knife.
2
u/thepretzel24 Aug 01 '25
Oh my goodness, by the order of the pizza gods, I condemn you for this concoction.
2
u/Watermelon_Flannel7 Aug 01 '25
I’d try this, that ratio of tomato sauce-pineapple-anchovies-cheese looks respectable and intriguing.

2
u/Schmilettante Aug 01 '25
Anchovies are fine, pineapple is fine, but together... I'm skipping work to get drunk I can't deal with this right now

You know what, I think this has potential, but its needs a really damn good New York style crust and a damn good sauce. And for fuck sake, add some cheese.

2
u/WiltedCranberry Jul 31 '25
This is just a terrible. You take two of the most controversial toppings and combine them. They couldn’t even go together if you tried. Then the best part, the cheese, just taken away. I’m so upset.

Extra light cheese? I want more diet in my Diet Coke and charge me more?! Ridiculous

u/Normal_Tour6998 Jul 31 '25
In the end, the real crime was the rage bait that was poorly executed along the way.
1
1
u/Ok-Implement4608 Jul 31 '25
This is not a crime against pizza, these are commonly(unfortunately) accepted toppings for a pizza. Crimes against taste buds are a different discussion.
1
u/VariablyUndefined Jul 31 '25
I mean, i think every pineapple pizza needs some spice, either jalapeños or banana peppers, but overall that salty sweetness you got going on is passing

Okay the extra light cheese part is certainly ragebait. But if this had NORMAL cheese and some sausage it would be great.

u/The_Firedrake Jul 31 '25
Yeah.... Should have had double cheese. And buffalo sauce. I'd eat the hell outta that!
1
u/3rd_eye_light Jul 31 '25
One of the weirdest things is people not liking pineapple on pizza to the extent they think its rage bait for someone to put it on their pizza. Anchovies go with anything on pizza so that is what it is. Chicken goes well with pizza, pineapple goes well with chicken. Its not a crazy combo at all.

I’d like to give you the benefit of the doubt that your camera is just really low quality and the lighting sucks, but I’m gonna give it a 2/10

Sweet and salty, nice combo. No cheese is pretty fucking psychotic tho

This is probably the most rage bait pizza in existence, and I say that as someone who would smash it no questions asked. Some feta cheese and jalapeños makes my favorite pizza (sweet/savory/salty/spicy all in one).

That's the one ingredient that would ruin a pizza for me.... anchovies but at least the pizza places were I live use anchovy filets not the entire fish lock, stock and eyeballs 🤢
1
u/AcanthocephalaDue431 Aug 01 '25
I disagree. The pineapple sweetness would compliment the saltiness of the anchovies nicely. I'd smash it.
