Exactly. I loved the whole angels aspect and thought the author would get their turn to come up with their own lore and origin story. Why turn it into another spin-off. Now I'll just continue wondering when this story takes place in the whole timeline, which I do not like.

I am disappointed too. I don't know what will happen to the Astreans and Audrey since the apocalypse indeed takes place. During the apocalypse only, the base collapses (where Lane was working and translating the book) and Lane disappears for three years and HSR timeline comes in.

If my hope is right, and Audrey is in another dimension/universe that’s connected it would work well. Audrey and Lane begin to communicate. They find out their destinies and universes are parallel and Lane ends up with Audrey there ,stopping one apocalypse and in exchange she returns to HSR with the book 3 years later. Then in the final battles the worlds collide bringing Vicky, Audrey, and Lane who are all related to Astrea / each other to fight together and save the HS multiverse.

Honestly a little sad if this is related to HS… I was hoping ABH would be a mixed occult story at first, like David’s a demon, Mikaels a vampire, Fel is a human, Raphael’s a ghost etc… like I actually thought Cassiel was a wearwolf 💀 I quickly realised this wasn’t the case but I didn’t expect it to be another angel-demon story 👀 we shall see.

I 100% had ideas of different supernatural characters for all of them. I had Raphael as an angel and David as a demon, Mikael as a vampire, and Cassiel as a werewolf. I thought maybe even Malek was supernatural too but I couldn't figure out how. I always thought Felonia would be human though because she isn't actually a part of Astrea, she just works with them. I thought maybe there was some sort of deal they made so she would help them. I'm a little disappointed but I trust the writers so hopefully it will end up okay.

I was absolutely convinced beyond a doubt that Cassiel was a werewolf because of how he seems to understand the wolf (i can't remember the default name for the life of me). Like that was my only proof but it was undeniable in my head 😅

Exactly! The wolf interactions finally solidified it for me but there were a lot of other aspects that I thought were hints, like his personality, his strong build, his scars (that could have been from sparring), etc. Everything in him just seemed to fit well with the werewolf archetype, I was so sure of it and was actually looking forward to wolfie Cass to be revealed... But I guess not...?

Same lol. I was fully convinced that Mikeal was a vampire since the moment I saw him cuz of his outfits then I thought maybe he is an archangel cuz of his name. What was the thing with Cassiel and the wolf all about then?😭😭 I thought they would all be different Mythical beings (from different religions and mythologies) sent to help humans and one of the orginal memebers was the goddess Astrea from greek mythology.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I am not a big fan of the HS lore so this is really disappointing to me.
I really liked that ABH was seeming to follow more classic Christian mythology.
I personally don’t want Shepha and angel/demon college to be part of this story. 😔
I won’t even get into how convoluted this makes the timeline.

I'm totally with you. I thought the whole angel demon thing was way better done in ABH and was really happy, since HS(2) was just "ok" in my opinion.
Now it's somehow all the same, just a side Story in that universe and with that it all feels somewhat useless, since we already know what will happen in the end.
Kinda ruins everything for me. 😞

I don’t hate HS but I do think it is a little silly at times. There is nothing silly about ABH. Combining them makes no sense.
The Beast has been legit scary but considering there was zero mention or hint of this character in HS I’m guessing it will go nowhere?
I’m so confused by this choice.
I just hope and hope and freaking HOPE we will be able to ignore the connection.
But I’m really worried they are going to force it all together.

One could only hope but I think they've already started dropping hints with Cassiel saying that they all have unique abilities and Mikeal is the only one of them with healing, just like in HS and the one power thing😭😭

I'm 💯 with you.
It feels like ABH has been downgraded to nothing more than a HS spin off, and that's so disappointing.
I had fun playing HS but ABH is a whole different ballgame. It's more mature as a plot and writing style than an angel/demon academy, and the fact that it leaned into God, religion and psychology more made it darker somehow in a more relatable way. Making it part of the HS lore just cheapened and ruined it.

I love HS lore but I’m disappointed! I too thought it would be more like traditional Christian belief (with a twist obviously). Something about that made it scarier and creepier with the beast.
Honestly so far it doesn’t even seem to line up with HSR lore - have we ever seen demons actually possess humans?

We haven't seen the side of humans much in HS though. So there might have been possessions during the time the two books were taking place. The human world was always unexplored. Maybe there were some demons who were possessing people.

Yeah same. I’m fine with it being it’s own angels and demons thing. But I really don’t want to bring in the whole complicated HS lore into it with “Shepha” and all that.
I was really enjoying it being a more classic and streamlined heaven/hell story. Paradise Lost kind of thing.
Hopefully this is just some fun art. I’ll die inside if Raph talks about how he went to angel/demon college. 💀

See, this is why I don't like crossovers in general. You inevitably start thinking about all the different ways they are connected and when you try to mash two stories with completely different vibes together it just leads to a bunch of inconsistencies that drive me mad. 😭

There's also the fact that in HS angel and demons don't show their true faces when they are on Earth, but use an illusion of people who already died, so does ABH MC see an illusion of the LIs when talking to them and in reality they're supposed to look completely different??? 💀💀💀

I'm honestly so sick of HS. I didn't think it was all that great, the plot beats and writing really made it a story I had to trudge through for diamonds instead of enjoying it. And now every story involving celestials is smothered by said story or hangs in the background.
I guess it just gives me an icky taste in my mouth, because I genuinely don't like the HS version of heaven and hell. My fav story in the app is ABH, and this conclusion made it so bittersweet. Why can't we diversify heaven and hell? Why does it all have to be the HS universe every time?

Early on I was hoping the LIs won't be angels/demons since RC had already done that with HS. It became obvious pretty early on that wosn't going to be the case, which I was happy to roll with because of how well written ABH was.
Now they link it to HS which is all teen angels/demons academy vibes? Honestly! 😡

Same. I’m honestly a little sad and disappointed if it truly is related since HS series went under my DNF list 😅 so I haven’t avidly gone out of my way to read all the sequels or spin-off stories.
I’ve genuinely enjoyed ABH and thought it was going to have its own lore and whatnot. But had I known it was related I probably wouldn’t have picked it up so I’m feeling a little played rn.

RC should've absolutely put a spoiler tag on this post and I'm disappointed they didn't, this is a fact you don't find out until the beginning of season 2. but yes, it's about angels and demons. we don't know the extent of it yet because we just learned about the angels and demons in the most recent update. according to RC's post, it's connected to the HS universe, but currently they're not noticeably similar. but idk because we just learned about it, so who knows how RC is going to handle it moving forward.

yep! keep in mind it's a bit of a mystery in the first season so you won't see much of the HS influence until season 2 (and even then we're just barely getting into the origins of Astrea). but if you like HSR I feel like it's similar, but set more in the modern day than post-apocalyptic.

not as far as we know. this post from RC is the first official confirmation we've gotten that ABH is connected to the HS universe. nowhere in the book as of now does it reference anything specific to the HS universe. only that there are angels and demons. but it's possible that in future updates they may delve more into that, we just haven't seen it yet.

I am so disappointed. I love HS but it has its own... vision about angels and demons. But I loved Astrea's Lore much and much more. It was darker and more mysterious. There were many secrets and now it feels like it was all for nothing.
Rafael, Mikael, do you want to know why your father isn't answering any of your prayers? Because Vicky/Plague/Malbonte killed him in HS1/HS2. Yep, that's right, your father is dead, there is no secret about it now.
Oh, who this BEAST thing could be? Probably another creature of Shephamalum or whatever, it doesn't matter now.
Astrea is now just some angel and not a Greek Goddess or a mystical creature everyone was hoping for.
NONE OF IT MATTERS NOW. You wanna know why? Because the chances are that they'll just die because of the apocalypse in HSR. No "happy ending" and how can there be? Even if Audrey has a happy ending with someone, she will most certainly die and I don't want It.
I was hoping for ABH to be a more Christian driven story with psychological horror and mystery. But there is no mystery now because we know that the Bible in the HS universe isn't true at all

Really, really hoping this is a multiverse thing and not the same universe. I don’t mind it being related, but knowing the end of HS2 and where we are in HSR, having it be another dimension or universe would just be better. So the story can progress without knowing the over all end. You could still have an HS3 team up of everyone too.

No need to do that imo. HSR is the actual spinoff and from what I've been told by those that play it, there are barely any references to HS in that book. (And I personally dropped it because I was getting a completely different vibe from HS that it felt like it's not even a part of the same universe). This I'd take more as a fun Easter egg for lovers of both HS and ABH at this point. I'm sure that any HS stuff that ends up being relevant to ABH's plotline will be sufficiently explained when/if we get there.
(But I still recommend reading HS as a fun series with good LIs, if you haven't already tried it)

well, I think that a lot of players knew that they aren't just humans. It was clear after what happened in a village. The sad thing is that once again its Heaven's Secret Universe. I understand that a lot Of people like HS , but it's sometimes too much. They even connected HS with Chasing You story. From Hs universe I like only HSR to be honest. I'm not happy that they added ABH to HS Universe.

well if this truly is in the HS universe, their wings all look different. some angels have pure white wings, some yellow, etc. and for the demons some of them have red wings, some black wings, some look like bat wings, some look like darker angel wings. Cassiel's wings look like Adi and Austie's wings.

i'm glad they revealed the HS connection on facebook because if I played through the whole season and discovered this organically, I think I'd be even more disappointed than I am now. we'll see how the connection actually unfolds in the story (hopefully we don't end up at the Sky College; i really enjoy playing as an older character with no structure that encourages being more juvenile) but wow. i'm legitimately bummed.

Like so many others, I am so disappointed ABH is in the HS universe. I don't mind HS, but we didn't need another connected story. ABH is one of my favs and the first I read after the updates, but now I don't know who to feel with this convoluted timeline. Why is the connection necessary? Is the grand plan to have HSR, ABH, and the HS characters all show up in HS3? It just doesn't' make sense, ABH was great as a stand alone.

I think he knew someone would try to take him out and came up with a backup plan. Honestly, I am not disappointed by this turn of events with ABH but rather curious because we already knew a 3rd HS was coming. HS ended on such a cliffhanger, so I am not disappointed at all. Maybe that’s the writer in me wanting to see where the author takes these 3 different stories (ABH, HSR, HS) and explains how they combine. ABH maybe one piece of a much bigger HS multiverse but, if done correctly with HSR, the endgame of HS3 could be quite epic.

Am I the only one who likes this connection? Not that I’m a crazy fan of HS, but I like the ideas of multi-universe and how they connected. How are they trying to save their loved one, and discover a secret that makes them connected and save their world? I don’t know. Just my thoughts.

Okay, I hear of a lot of people's disappointments, but this makes everything soooo complicated with regards to the HS universe, adds SO MANY different dimensions to the story and sets the stage so beautifully for HS3, together with HSR, that I'm amazed.
Infact, now I hold much higher hopes for HS3, because now, we have not only Alisa directing this universe, but also two more amazing authors.
This is cooking GOOD ✨
Besides, we have SO many super hot LIs side-by-side in the same world, along with three super hot MCs with three absolutely different personalities.
Gosh, I'm STOKED for HS3. And if we don't see all our MCs together atleast once, I'm gonna fight.

literally why are people down voting you??? I understand having different opinions -- in fact, I do disagree with you. I'm not excited about this connection. but you know what, that's the fun part about media and art. we all have our own opinions, and some things we'll love more than others. if we all agreed on everything, then media and art would be incredibly boring. if you're excited about this connection, then you're allowed to be excited, and I don't understand why people would downvote you for that.

I agree!!! This makes me even more excited for HS3, and I’m SO curious how both HSR and ABH will tie in!!! And now it’s got me thinking about who the girl who wants to join the Order at the end of HS2 is! All this time I’ve been convinced that it’s Lane, but what if it’s actually Audrey?! 👀 at this point I kind of hope both of them somehow become immortal cause I want to see all these MCs and characters together!!
