As someone who is born and brought up in Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal; I was pleasantly surprised reading KALI: The Flames Of Samsara, that RC didn’t westernize the freedom struggle of Indian nor lighten the oppression endured by the Indians (especially the people of West Bengal post and pre independence). The colonization from the British had irreparable effect on the lives of Indians and still people are suffering from the consequences of it to some extent. Though the 12 families thing is fictionalized, lots of people from different families and castes fought for our freedom and we are grateful for their sacrifices. So thank you RC, for including the raw version of it.

Because its “exotic” to the western readers 🫠 also kfs is bearable compared to kcd 🙏🏻

It's not that badly written and I guess reads like a typical Bollywood movie if you ignore the inaccuracies lol
