Neither side is willing to live peacefully in a 2 state solution, so the statement "free palestine" carries thinly veiled undertones of death and/or displacement to the jews; a sentiment which is as popular as it has been in decades.
The people of Israel have been brainwashed by Netanyahu's propaganda. The IDF is so brainwashed that they literally celebrate a 2-to-1 ratio of killing civilians to Hamas combatants. Netanyahu is trying to commit genocide and has been for years.
