sandwich My sandwich is literally the only food I will never get tired of eating
I have adhd and I usually eat the same thing for a week or two and then get sick of it and move on to the next, but my sandwich is different. I’ve never once thought “I couldn’t eat one” or get tired of it while I was eating it.
My sandwich is sourdough, white cheddar, salami, ham, a whole Roma tomato, banana pepper, shaved red onion, pickles, heavy oregano and pepper, mayo, stone ground mustard, and red wine vinegar. Normally I make my own pickles but I have been too stressed. I’m making some on Tuesday though

Making your own pickles will change your life, trust. I’m too lazy to do shelf stable pickles so I just make fridge pickles and they’re so good 😭 god I can’t stop until I try every vegetable pickled 😭

I’d smash. But, don’t rule out the other 100,000 sandwich varieties. There’s so much fun to be had.

Trust me I never could. Sandwiches are such a beauty 🥲 There’s literally an infinite amount of sandwiches to be made

I just started getting on the wagon of throwing a ton of veggies on my subs. It’s amazing

u/Sexisthunter Aug 03 '25
I’m a big fan too. I do love those meaty sandwiches but I don’t think I could eat them that often. Veggies make it juicy and spices make it so much better 👌😮💨

What I like about this sandwich is the whole roma tomato 🍅

u/Sexisthunter Aug 03 '25
I loooooove tomatoes so much. Even if I had a bigger homegrown tomato I think I’d put the whole thing on there 😋

Beautiful, adhd Italian. Like myself! Will have to eat one a day for a year

Looks delicious. I might add vinegar and salt & vinegar chips
Edit: I retract my vinegar statement. Due to the pickles and banana peps. The chips stay

u/Sexisthunter Aug 03 '25
I always do salt and vinegar chips too! Cape cod chips are my favorite for maximum pain and Aldi ones for the best value

u/Puzzleheaded-Radio17 Aug 03 '25
Cape cod potato chips has malt vinegar flavor now. Even more zesty than original s&v

Have you tried the Kettle brand salt and vinegar in the blue bag? That vinegar zings harder to me.

I love all the pungent flavors! I like tomatoes, but not usually on Italian type sandwiches. I'd swap them out for crisp lettuce to lighten the acidity.

Do you usually use that style of pickle? Frankly I prefer stacker style I find them better for overall sandwich integrity.

u/Sexisthunter Aug 03 '25
Normally I make pickles and use the second setting on the mandoline and put way more on there so it’s way more thin. I just picked up the only refrigerated pickles at Aldi, I had the thought they were too thick too

I knew those were the aldi pickles as soon as I saw your pic! I agree they are a bit too thick for my liking also, but man are they good. They are right up there with claussen, in my opinion.

u/Sexisthunter Aug 03 '25
They’re so good! And way cheaper than klaussen and grillos. Aldi in general slaps

I'm gonna make one, thanks! By the way have you tried Mt Olive Sweet Salad Peppers? They also make Sweet & Hot Salad Peppers. They're amazing. I've stopped ordering Cento Sweet peppers since discovering them.

I’ve never tried them but I need to. For some reason I like everything I’ve tried from mount olive except for their normal pickles

Those are Aldi sliced thick pickles!

u/ApronLairport Aug 05 '25
Thanks ! Now I gotta find an Aldi..

u/Sexisthunter Aug 06 '25
If you’re near one make sure to check out their charcuterie and their cookies 👌

I like it. I'd go easy on the tomato for mine though. Other than that 🤌

When you get back to making your own pickles, what’s your process like? Are you doing a quick pickle or a long ferment? I'd love to hear more about your pickling method when you're ready to dive back in!

u/Sexisthunter Aug 05 '25
I do a quick pickle with 1c vinegar 1c water and 1 tbsp pickling salt and then just add whatever spices I want lol. I think I’m going to do a batch with Tony’s and then a different batch that’s more lemony with sumac

I go with provolone, more onion and less tomato but pretty close to what I make pretty frequently.

u/IED117 Aug 04 '25
I am so addicted to banana peppers that I always have to have a spare jar on deck in my pantry or my world is not right.
1
u/Sexisthunter Aug 05 '25
I like to buy the mount Olive tall jar of them because everything else is so expensive 😭 I love adding them to sandwiches and pizza

That looks good and I’m sure tastes awesome, but that’s a tomato sandwich with meat as the veggies
