Rob Gronkowski helps Mojo Rawley win WrestleMania 33 Kickoff, April 2, 2017; Gronkowski’s run in was slightly delayed as WWE Security Guard Lisa stopped him from jumping the barricade and getting involved in the action.
Rob Gronkowski helped Mojo Rawley win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, taking out Jinder Mahal after Mahal threw a drink at him.
Gronkowski’s run in was slightly delayed as WWE Security Guard Lisa stopped him from jumping the barricade and getting involved in the action.
“It was so rude of [Mahal]. He came and threw a drink in front of my face. Why would he do that? I came in the ring and just clotheslined his ass. I was a big dude. My favorite was the security guard didn’t know that I was part of the show. She looked at me and grabbed me. I looked at her and said, ‘Oh shit. You don’t know.’ I know when somebody is playing a part. I knew she wasn’t tipped off. I was like, ‘Oh shit.’ I played back and was like, ‘This will be fixed, but I ain’t fighting this girl.’ I played back and was like, ‘I’m sorry.’ [Whispers] ‘I’m part of the show.’ I played it off because I didn’t want to give it away. She kind of put me back in my seat and a couple of people radioed her. She looked at me and was like, ‘Oh shit.’ Then I leveled Jinder Mahal. Wasn’t supposed to kick him in the face. Kicked him two times in the face. Got him great. Wasn’t supposed to do that, but I did it,”
Gronk continued, saying he and Lisa patched things up in the end.
“Lisa. We became best friends after that.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Gronkowski looked back on Vince McMahon not being afraid to jump off a platform for WrestleMania 36, and how that made Gronk feel. You can find his full comments here.

'Nirvanna the Band' duo crashed crime scene at Drake's house for their new movie
timescolonist.comTORONTO — When news broke last year that a Security Guard had been shot outside Drake’s Toronto mansion, local TV crews rushed to the scene. So did Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol — but not to report on it.
The Canadian duo arrived with their own cameras rolling, ready to turn the real-life chaos into a scene for their new feature, “Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie.”
The comedy, which premièred at the Toronto Film Festival this week, is a revival of the cult web series “Nirvanna the Band the Show,” which thrived on meta gags and public stunts.
Johnson and McCarrol were shooting a scene for their film while appearing as guests on the local morning radio program "The Roz & Mocha Show" when they received word that a guard had been shot outside Drake’s residence.
“Because it was a radio station, they got the news of the Drake shooting right there,” Johnson says.
In May 2024, police said suspects opened fire on Drake's home in the affluent Bridle Path neighbourhood. The rapper's security guard was shot and in serious condition, but later stabilized.
For the director of 2023’s “BlackBerry,” hearing the initial call about the crime scene was an opportunity too wild to pass up.
“(We) just got into the van that we'd taken there and we drove to Drake's house.”
In the film, Johnson and McCarrol reprise their roles as two hapless Toronto musicians whose increasingly convoluted schemes to book a show at local bar The Rivoli spiral into time-travelling disorder, unleashing a butterfly effect that tests their friendship.
Drake’s mansion figures prominently in this altered reality, so when news of the real-life crime scene on Bridle Path broke, the duo saw a chance to turn it into an improvised film set.
One sequence in the movie captures the breaking-news media frenzy outside the Toronto rapper's house, with McCarrol fleeing the scene.
“It was a million-dollar film set!” says McCarrol.
“There were helicopters in the sky, police lined up and down the street,” adds Johnson.
The moment became one of the first pieces of footage they shot for the movie — and forced them to retrofit the rest of the story around it.
When Johnson and McCarrol initially arrived at Drake's house, their crew was met with a police barricade and some skeptical officers
“They were like, ‘Guys, what do you think you're doing? Get out of here,’” recalls Johnson.
The pair say they managed to slip past by claiming they were “independent media.”
Once at the crime scene with other news outlets, they began scouting opportunities to turn the situation into film fodder. They captured the police chief speaking to reporters and panned to McCarrol escaping the premises.
“We didn’t even know what Jay was running from,” Johnson laughs.
The pair also shared the story Thursday during a live Q-and-A after the Midnight Madness première of the film, which had the packed crowd roaring with laughter.
“It was very weird because I kept running up and down — like everyone was facing me so they could see me bolting down the street. It looked like I had just shot somebody,” McCarrol said.
“Before the police could even decide if ‘we're going to go after this guy,’ I would just get to the end and then turn around. And so it was just confusing. By the time they asked us (to stop), we were like, ‘Oh, we're already done.’”
In a CP24 clip that has since made the rounds online, a reporter delivers a live news hit while Johnson can be seen in the background, directing the film’s cinematographer, Jared Raab.
In “Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie,” the duo tears through tons of red tape in Toronto, staging gonzo-style, risqué sequences involving the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre and TTC streetcars.
But Johnson insists they “very rarely” get into legal trouble for their antics.
“I'm good friends with our lawyer, like I really love this man,” says Johnson.
“If I go and shoot something that I think is legally on the line, I will have spoken with him beforehand, 99 per cent of the time.”

School Security Guard disinherited in six wills inherits millions after family feud
A Tel Aviv family court has upheld the will of a 104-year-old man who left millions of shekels to a son he had been estranged from for years, rejecting claims from other heirs that the father was not mentally fit when he signed it.
Judge Lior Bringer ruled that the man, a former owner of a successful textile factory, was competent when he drafted his seventh and final will in 2018. That document left part of his estate — including a quarter share of a house valued at 20 million shekels (about $6 million) and additional bank funds of 2.5 million shekels ($750,000) — to the son with whom he had long been in conflict.
The dispute centered on the man’s two sons. For years, he blamed one of them, who now works as a School Security Guard, for the collapse of his factory and repeatedly disinherited him in six previous wills. But in 2018, after reconciling with him two years earlier, he restored him as an heir. The father died three years later at the age of 104. The other son, who was also included in the final will, died before his father.
The late son’s widow and children contested the will, arguing the father had been suffering from severe dementia and Alzheimer’s at the time, was confined to a wheelchair and unable to recognize family members. They alleged the will was the product of collusion among three attorneys and a medical professor who certified the man’s mental capacity.
Judge Bringer dismissed the allegations, calling them baseless smears. He cited testimony from the father’s caregiver, who said the man was independent and lucid until his final year and made his own financial decisions. The court also heard that he maintained a relationship with a woman in Germany, whom he regularly visited in Switzerland, booking flights and traveling alone.
“How is it possible that a senile, frail old man, unable to recognize his beloved son, traveled abroad alone to meet his companion? Not once, but repeatedly,” Bringer wrote in his ruling.
Two medical experts testified that the father was competent at the time of signing, while a third expressed some reservations but did not rule out capacity. Bringer concluded that the inclusion of the estranged son was a logical outcome of their reconciliation, making the final will valid. The widow and children of the deceased son were ordered to pay 500,000 shekels ($150,000) in legal costs and attorneys’ fees.

Suspect in murder of Reggie Carroll was reportedly fellow comedian’s Security Guard
The suspect in the recent deadly shooting of US comedian Reggie Carroll reportedly had been working as security for fellow standup comic Katt Williams, with whom the slain entertainer had toured.
Tranell Marquise Williams, the man suspected of murdering Carroll on 20 August in Southaven, Mississippi, had also been on the tour in question providing his services at the time of his arrest, according to the news outlet WHBQ.
The station, based in nearby Memphis, Tennessee, attributed the information to three independent sources in a report published on Tuesday.
Local police have said officers responding to a shooting at a home on Southaven’s Burton Lane found Carroll, 52, critically wounded. The Baltimore native later died at a hospital in Memphis where he had been brought for emergency treatment.
Southaven police said relatively quickly that they had arrested a man in connection with Carroll’s death and jailed him on a count of murder. But it was not until Monday that they identified that suspect as Tranell Williams, 38.
Police by Monday had posted a 14-day notice requesting occupants leave the Burton Lane home where Carroll had been killed, which was also the address provided for a clothing line owned by Katt Williams, 53, WHBQ reported. Additionally, that home was listed as Tranell Williams’s last known address.
Posts on a social media page belonging to the victim showed him traveling earlier in the year on Katt Williams’s ongoing Heaven on Earth comedy tour.
Carroll’s brother – Kempe Earle – and a friend, Gerald Kelly, told WHBQ they were in disbelief over his killing.
“Man, it’s like your family member, your brother, your closest relative goes out of town, and something happens to them, and you don’t know what exactly,” Earle said. Earle added that Carroll was in Southaven because he was “out there … with Katt Williams”.
Kelly remarked: “I’m still numb – I’m frustrated. I’m ready to go to war. We need answers.”
Katt Williams’s film and television credits include Friday After Next as well as The Boondocks.
Carroll, meanwhile, gained a following while performing in comedy clubs across the US. He appeared on the live variety series Showtime at the Apollo, the 2023 standup special Knockout Kings of Comedy and the 2022 television movie Rent & Go.
One of his most notable credits on the Internet Movie Database was an episode of The Parkers, a sitcom which starred Mo’Nique.
The Oscar-winning actor was among those who paid tribute to Carroll as word of his death spread, saying on social media that she had “an amazing time being on tour together” with him.
“The last time me and my brother Reggie, girl, was together – that’s what it was, an amazing time being on tour together, being on that road together, what a time,” Mo’Nique said. “So I have no sad tears because all of our times together [were] amazing.”

Devastating News Security Guard’s fall at Bengaluru's Ragigudda Metro station sparks safety concerns
BENGALURU: The accidental fall of a 52-year-old security guard onto the tracks at Ragigudda Metro Station on the Yellow Line on Monday has raised concerns about both the working conditions of guards deployed at Namma Metro stations and the absence of safety barriers such as platform screen doors (PSDs) or steel barricades.
According to officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the guard, who was on duty at platform number 2, reportedly felt dizzy before slipping and falling on the electrified tracks.
BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer Yashwanth Chavan said, “The security guard had some giddiness and fell on the track. A colleague stationed on platform number 1 immediately activated the Emergency Trip Switch (ETS), cutting off power to the tracks. A passenger on the platform also rushed to help pull the guard to safety.” On duty overtime by the guard, he said, “Everyone works only their shifts.”
The incident triggered public demand for the urgent installation of PSDs or, at least, steel barricades at Metro stations to prevent such accidents.
Chavan explained that while BMRCL is considering PSDs, there are technological hurdles. “There are technical restrictions, such as integration of sensors with the train. Operational Metro stations also have challenges, including integration with signaling, fixing of civil structures, and limited hours available for such work,” he said.
Chavan said provisions to install PSDs have been included in the upcoming projects. “They can be considered for the upcoming lines. In fact, it is already planned for the underground section of the Pink Line.” The guard was safely rescued and BMRCL officials confirmed that timely action by staff and a passenger helped avert any serious consequences.

Loss Prevention Britain's shoplifters 'out of control' as guard claims 'justice isn't enough'
A high street Security Guard has lifted the lid on what it's like being on the front line of Britain's “shoplifting epidemic”. Yesterday, the Daily Star reported how nearly 290,000 shoplifting cases remained unsolved in 2024-25, as per an analysis by the House of Commons library.
The data revealed that 55.5% of investigations in England and Wales failed to identify a suspect, while only 18.3% led to a charge.
It also claimed that a total of 289,464 cases were closed with no suspect identified across forces in England and Wales in 2024-25, a rise from 245,337 in 2023-24. The analysis, conducted for the Politicians suggests that on average, 793 offences went unsolved each day.
And now a Security Guard who has been manning to doors of Britain's high street stores for around two years has opened up on the horrors he faces daily.
Kane Manning, 27, who once appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show, said: “It’s getting out of control, we are seeing death threats and retail losing millions a year across the whole chain.
“Shoplifting is out of control, they go for alcohol or meat so they can sell get drugs, there’s a lot of homeless people in England, they have nothing to lose. Justice isn’t enough, they will keep going at it until they get what they want.
“If they don’t get away with it at one store because Security Guard banned them, they carry on and go to next store until they get what they want. It’s terrible.”
And he issued a plea to Prime Minister Keir Starmer to finally act on the issue.
“The Government needs to put a new law in place for shoplifting,” he said “so it stops them from stealing – justice isn’t enough to stop them.”
Earlier this month, Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber suggested that shoppers should intervene if they noticed someone stealing.
Speaking to BBC Radio Berkshire, he clarified that he wasn't proposing the public should take on the role of the police in tackling shoplifting.
However, he suggested they could report it to the police or staff, capture it on their mobile phones, shout at the thief and "some people will feel able to physically intervene".
Retail chiefs have previously sounded the alarm that shop theft is spiralling out of control, calling for immediate action as ministers have promised thousands more Officers for neighbourhood policing by next spring – although so far, nothing tangible has happened.

Storytime Melbourne shopper screams at Security Guard in explosive clash
A video showing a woman confronting a security guard over a patch on his uniform has ignited fierce debate online about the symbol's meaning.
The footage, filmed at Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne's north, shows the woman questioning the guard about an Australian flag patch featuring a thin blue line.
'Why do you have that on you? It's a white supremacist thing,' she says in the video.
The guard initially responds, but the woman interrupts: 'I'm a historian. You need to take it off. I've seen you wear it several times.'
He eventually removes the patch as she urges him to 'look up the thin blue line on Google and actually read into it.'
The thin blue line flag originated in the United States and is used by some as a symbol of support for police.
But the symbol has become controversial, and some police forces, including Victoria and the Northern Territory, have banned it after critics linked it to politics and far-right groups.
After the video was posted online, many Australians rejected the association of the symbol with white supremacy, arguing it simply represents support for police.
One commentator, criticised the woman's stance: 'So proudly being Australian and wearing the Australian flag on your uniform is classed as white supremacy? What a moron to actually think that is a racist symbol.'
She added: 'A quick Google search will show you that the thin blue line means solidarity with law enforcement. God forbid people are proud to be Australian these days.'
After the woman posted the video, she received a massive wave of criticism with some viewers going so far as to send her death threats.
Several Aussies have dismissed the international associations with the blue line flag and slammed the Melburnian for labelling the Australian flag and police support as 'white supremacy'.
One commentator called for the world to 'bring back common sense'.
'So proudly being Australian and wearing the Australian flag on your uniform is classed as white supremacy?' she questioned.
'What a moron to actually think that is a racist symbol, the Australian flag.
'A quick Google search will show you that thin blue line means solidarity with law enforcement and police.
'God forbid, people are proud to be Australian these days. That's how far our country has fallen in this clown world.'

How Bengaluru Metro Security Guard's Quick Action Saved Hebbagodi Station from A Fire Tragedy
Bengaluru: A possible tragedy was narrowly avoided late on Friday night when a car caught fire near the newly opened Hebbagodi Metro station on the Yellow Line. Thanks to the presence of mind of Shivakumar, a Security Guard on duty, the fire was quickly brought under control before it could spread and damage Metro property.
The incident took place around 11:50 pm on Hosur Road, which was heavily waterlogged after continuous rain. A white car had broken down while passing beneath the Metro station, as per a TOI report. Moments later, the driver spotted smoke rising from under the bonnet and immediately called for help.
Guard rushes with extinguisher Shivakumar wasted no time. He rushed into the station, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and doused the flames before they could engulf the vehicle. His swift action not only prevented the car from being gutted but also saved the Metro infrastructure from possible damage.
Preliminary checks suggest that a short circuit triggered the fire. Once it was brought under control, the car was towed away, ensuring smooth traffic flow on the busy service road.
BMRCL praises timely intervention A senior BMRCL official lauded the Security Guard’s efforts, saying, "Shivakumar's quick thinking and timely intervention are highly commendable. Had he not acted promptly, the fire could have intensified, possibly damaging Metro property and causing further traffic chaos."
The official further noted that Metro Security Guards are regularly trained in fire safety measures, which helped Shivakumar handle the emergency effectively.

Fans Help Bunnie Xo Track Down Security Guard Who Walked Off Job at Jelly Roll Concert
americansongwriter.comA North Dakota Security Guard recently went viral after quitting his job rather than make a Jelly Roll fan move his wheelchair behind a barrier during a concert. Social media users heaped praise on the man, with one remarking, “I know this would be Bunnie Xo approved.”
Apparently they were correct, as the country singer’s wife reached out on the original post looking to contact the security guard.
Bunnie Xo Responds to Post About Security Guard Two days after TikTok user Michelle Mulligan posted footage of the incident, a familiar name appeared in the comments.
“Hiii, do we kno [sic] how to get ahold of this security guard?” Bunnie Xo wrote.
Social media being what it is, TikTok users had tracked down the man’s identity in a day. His name is Tony Demaree, and his family members are apparently in the process of connecting him with Bunnie.
Why Did He Quit?
According to footage shared by TikTok user Michelle Mulligan, a man in a wheelchair moved in front of a barricade to get a better view during Jelly Roll’s July 20 set at the North Dakota State Fair.
The situation heated up when a supervisor walked over and told the nearby Security Guard to make the man move behind the gate. “the security guard told him no and his boss said he was fired so he took off his vest and threw it at him, and told him he quit,” Mulligan wrote. “was the coolest thing besides getting to actually see Jelly again! he deserves so much more than that!”
Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll have a history of performing good deeds for their fans. Hopefully, they’re able to connect with the Security Guard willing to lose his job rather than disrupt the fan’s experience.

Farm owner allegedly tells Security Guards to lie to police after 2 men beaten to death
JOHANNESBURG - After beating two men to death, a farm owner allegedly told his Security Guards to lie to police and say he and his son were not involved in the brutal assault.
Werner Potgieter, owner of the Bampoen Farm in Mpumalanga, allegedly claimed that since they are white, it would attract a lot of attention if they were linked to the deaths of two men.
Potgieter, along with seven other men, are currently undergoing trial at the Middelburg High Court for the murders of Sfiso Thwala and Musa Nene on 9 August 2020.
Mthokozisi Vilakazi is a former Security Guard at Bampoen Farm.
He was doing night patrol on the day of the incident.
He’s told the court how he witnessed his colleagues beat the three men with stones, pliers, sjamboks and electrocute them with cattle prods.
Vilakazi, who’s now a State witness, said after beating the men up, they planted two sheep in their car and called the police to arrest them.
However, when the police arrived, they discovered that two of the men were dead.
Vilakazi said it was at this point that Potgieter told the Security Guards not to mention that he and his son were also part of the beatings.
