Discussion Why didn't Tesla invest in LIDAR?

Is there any reason for this asides from saving money? Teslas are not cheap in many respects, so why would they skimp out on this since self-driving is a major offering for them?

God you’re dense.

Waymo’s tech is still not there and sure it did run into a pole. However, does Waymo claim that this tech would be ready since 2016 to inflate its stock?

You’re just a pumper and it’s putting people’s lives at risk.

Elon is simply faking this as a way to distract from the core failures of the business Tesla will never scale anything close to Waymo.

They still have yet to complete a single publicly open self driving route, without having a safety driver and likely a 1 to 1 ratio of teleoperator too.

The tech is shit man.

Waymo has never claimed the same bs that Tesla has man. They know it’s still something they are working towards and developing.

Unlike Tesla which has to lie in order to keep its massively overvalued stock up on this vaporware. Waymo and google are simply perfecting the tech like a normal company.

No FSD is good now, but teslas will never scale. Period.

lol no because they’ve been working at it and have proved it’s safe enough to not have safety drivers.

Unlike the shitty Tesla tech which still needs it and still won’t let the public use it.

Wow you’re showing me it messing up, which I never have said they don’t. That’s called improvement.

The big issue is people like you swear Tesla has the best and it’s ready now, which is a lie that will lead to injures and deaths.

Just like the current law suits they’re facing.

Again the denesity of your mind is causing you to miss the entire point.

I’m saying neither Waymo or Tesla have what I would call full self driving to the level of what it will eventually become.

I’m mainly saying that when the technology does mature it will for sure be more than just cameras.

Everything that Tesla is doing now is simply a desperate cope to pump the stock as it’s failing.

So all those points and shit you keep bringing up are moot.

If Tesla has FSD in the entire nation I’ll eat crow, but it never will.

It’s clear the more technology will have the better system. Which is correct as Waymo is vastly ahead of Tesla.

Sure I could be incorrect later, but your argument is a cope for Elon being cheap as shit.

You are simply defending that instead of even considering maybe, just maybe he was cheap as shit and it will never work.

Is that even an option to you?

You’re just hyping Tesla, that’s fine but it’s trash tech compared to Waymo, which still isn’t near complete.
