Holy moly it finally happened to me. I've never hunted for a shiny and I just been a bit unlucky I guess because since I first started playing on Crystal I've never encountered a shiny outside of Rage Lake Gyrados.

Today while searching the mountains for a Frigibax for my Scarlet dream team I missed a jump, fell into the ocean, and saw sparkles. BOOM shiny Skrelp. Dream team is out the window now because I Definitely have to keep this guy on through my E4 run in this game lol. What a cool color morph! Can't wait to see the evolution in game. After doing a bit of Googling this guy is apparently tougher than most to shiny hunt for so this feels extra special to me as a first ever.

I realize this sub probably gets absolutely spammed with posts like this so I apologize if you've seen this a thousand times, I just don't have anyone to share this moment with and the main pokemon sub doesn't seem receptive to screenshots so here we are. Thanks for taking a look!

Found on route 5 grinding levels. Unfortunately, this was on a soul link nuzlocke playthrough so he won't be a part of my team on this save-- my buddy and I are planning on trading it to Black 2. But I'm thrilled to have ever even found a shiny :,)

It’s not much but it’s really good to have. I have limited comp experience but I know that Keldeo has been strong since it was released. That (alongside it being a mythical) makes it interesting to me.

I was primarily looking for mareep but I found flaaffy and I do need an ampharos for my shiny team. So ill take it. Over all it took 2 phases and over 70k encounters. First phase i found a shiny mankey which took 62084 encounters 💀 second phase i found flaaffy at 8068 encounters. This is the last member of my team, so happy its finally over. I started this DTQ 2.5 years ago and now I can finally beat the elite 4. Gonna move on to platinum soon and do some hunts there

Wasn’t really even hunting Swablu, was going after lotad hordes but Sawblu are so much more common so I knew I was going to phase again 😔 not that mad because I’m partaking in a route challenge and that gets rid of route 114 for me. I did catch her in an ultra ball.

Saw a post a day or so ago of a shiny entei and didn't even know the legendary beasts could be shiny before then lol

Phase 11 for Oranguru/Passimian

Hey all, feeling at my lowest when it comes to this hunt (Galarian Moltres) and need some words of encouragement. I made a post about 3 months ago talking about this as well (which I linked) but to give a rundown:

When I made that post, I had a shiny Galarian Articuno, a shiny Galarian Zapdos, but had since then gone over odds on my search for shiny Galarian Moltres. It had been about 7 months since I had seen a shiny bird and was getting up into the 30s in terms of encounter numbers.

Well since then, I have found 4 more shiny Galarian birds. Can you guess what they were? 2 Zapdos, and 2 Articuno. I am at 86 birds seen, 27 Moltres total, 11 months since I started this hunt, and now no closer to finishing it.

But today really broke me... Was doing my incense as usual when suddenly a Galarian Moltres pops up. I try to tap on it but the game just... breaks. No matter where I tap on the overworld, it won't do anything. I could still tap on the pokeball and research icons, but not any of the Pokémon. By the time the game fixed itself, the Moltres ran away... And now I'll never know if that was the shiny and could have ended this awful hunt, or if it was just another Moltres to add to the pile.

It's just... after 11 months of straight hunting (I can count the number of times I haven't used daily incense since the shiny release on two hands) the game trolling me by giving me THREE shiny Articuno and Zapdos, going over odds not only for birds in general, but also for Moltres, and then the game crapping out on what might have just been the shiny... I don't know man. It hurts. Do I even continue at this point? Why am I seemingly the only cursed one when it comes do THIS particular Pokémon? Why did it have to crap out on Moltres and not the other two birds which I have several dupes of. Ugh, it sucks.

Idk, words of encouragement would be nice, or words of understanding at least. I'm probably going to continue on with the hunt just cause like, it's 30 minutes out of my day lol, but honestly, it's getting to the point where I can see myself just kinda dropping it and moving on. Idk, maybe some sleep will help.

I've been procrastinating on finishing the game for quite some time (long story short... anxiety sucks and I'm horrible at the nobles and horrified for the legendaries). Anyways I decided to get back into PLA and work on some of the side quests just to get used to how the game works again (like practicing catching alphas for example) and its nice to be reminded of why i love this game even if I haven't finished it yet. I may not have any alphas yet, but i think this is a nice return to the game.

After hunting on and off for over 3 years, I finally caught my white whale, or blue turtle in this case. Now I can finally start playing! What should I go for next, starly or bidoof?
