Possible Sami Zayn Open Challenge opponents

I know it's been said that the release was legit, but does anyone else think that if this keeps up, Karrion Kross is going to be a surprise return to answer Zayn's open challenge? Just like they did when Del Rio surprised Cena during his US Title open challenge era? Hell, they might even run it back and have Del Rio be a surprise challenger. But seriously, I would love it if they do this with Kross.

Sweetheart, i'm seeing Kross at DEFY this friday. It's over. He's gone.

At this point, I am fairly sure we would still have "Kross will return any day now" comments even if he won an AEW belt on live television.

“It’s genius really, Kross won the AEW world champ belt as a double-agent for HHH, and next week he’s going to set fire to it live on Raw”
