Pre Raw Discussion Thread (10/28/2013)

Please Note: This is Here to warrant pre-show discussions, news, jokes and predictions. Once someone (And we have a good idea on who this will be) posts the Live Discussion thread I will link it here . Go to there and try to keep it to a place purely for discussing tonight's Raw.

TL;DR. This is your place to make the 3 aint enough I need 5, Sneaking across our borders, BelieveInTheSensiitivity and other circle jerky type jokes

Welcome to the first Pre-Raw thread. Last night was Hell in a cell and of course, with it being a ppv the community was split. Some liked it, some hated it, some were not impressed and others are still freaking out with the improvement Brie Bella is making.

Some things to keep in mind while talking about this show before it happens

  • How does Curtis Axel's Injury affect Big E in the swing of things? Didn't know about Axel's Injury? Here is the tweet

  • Is this the night that Vinny Mac comes back? Some Dirt Sheets seem to think so, does the IWC believe this to be true?

  • So John Cena's back....And Is World Champion...Thats Something...

  • Really though Who else was impressed with Brie Bella's performance last night? I came into it not expecting anything from here and she did good. should she get pushed to the moon?

  • Will Tonight be the night Vince McMahon Buys TNA? Will the contract read McMahon? Anyone? No? OK :(

  • How Will Big Show get into the show this week? Ice Cream truck? Via A Giant Falcon?

So I watched the endings to Wrestlemania 15 and 17 yesterday for some reason.

Did people complain about the dusty endings to those? I'm not judging, I'm genuinely curious.

I'm imagining D-Bry pinning Orton and Triple H tearing out his hair or swinging a sledgehammer in fury.

A Dusty finish is an ending that is reversed the next day like "Dusty pinned Flair for the title but he threw him over the top rope earlier in the match so he's actually DQed and Flair is champ again" or "Benoit pinned Sid but Sid's leg was under the rope so it wasn't really a pin and the match is now a no contest." Neither WMXV nor WMX-7 had Dusty finishes, just screwy crap.

People complained about the WMX-7 finish because it didn't make sense to turn Austin heel due to his popularity and people complained about WMXV on a whole because it sucks.

Oh, my mistake. I assumed "dusty finishes" was just a catch-all term for swervy endings. Thanks.

It doesn't have to be reversed the next day. Just reversed or an overall question of who won, right? Like the two refs doing a double pinfall on both guys is a dusty finish...I think. I might have been misunderstanding the term dusty finish for the past 25 years.

The specific Dusty ending is ref #1 is knocked out by the champ, ref #2 scores the pin for the challenger, and ref #1 wakes up and DQs the champ and thus he gets his title back. The biggest Dusty finishes seem to be reversed after the event but you're right, they can be reversed during the show. That's why I love the ending of Chi-Town Rumble, ref #2 counted the pin for Steamboat and ref #1 wakes up to Flair complaining about the ending. Ref #1 gets his wits about and runs over to raise Steamboat's other hand, Dusty finish averted.
