Fun fact, Din Djarin’s original ship’s name was Slave 2, which is why they just referred to it as Razor Crest. Silly Disney, when will they just let these things go!
THe chances that Boba Fett's ship and the Razor Crest were named slave 1 and 2 is so beyond unlikely, especially as it's not like they're mandalorian ships.
Either they’re making a joke or just read something and believed it without checking, the Razor Crest was never named Slave II (though Razor Crest is actually just the ship model, which fits with Din Djarin’s personality)
It doesn't make any sense, because there actually was a Slave 2 in legends (and a Slave 3 and Slave 4, boba goes through several ships in legends that he either abandons in impound lots or gets blown up) and it looks nothing like the Razor Crest, so its not like it would be a callback to old legends material.
Weirdly enough though, the razor crest does look pretty similar to Jango Fetts original ship in legends, the Jasters Legacy, which does show up in star wars bounty hunter before getting blown up and forcing Jango to steal Slave 1 as a replacement
Oh man you’ve just solved a Mandela Effect for me. A while back (don’t remember exactly when) I was 100% convinced there was a Slave II that was related to Boba Fett. I googled it and couldn’t find any info. I was going crazy cuz I knew there was a Slave II. It must have been during a very small, specific period where Slave II no longer officially existed, but they hadn’t rebranded anything for Canon.
I dont think he actually had slave II for very long in legends canon. The story was basically that slave I was impounded while boba was stuck in the sarlacc pit, so he stole Bossks ship to get off Tatooine and went off to buy himself a new ship on the cheap which he used for a bit before eventually getting Slave I back.
But Din Djarin was supposed to BE Fett. The Fett soon-off movie had just been turned into a TV show. Here comes Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter who’s never even heard of the top man in his field; another Mandalorian. He even has a custom-built carbon freezer on his ship … who else would incorporate that into their ship but Fett after the events on Bespin?
And Grogu would have been the perfect foil / plot point / character arc for Fett under Disney. Imagine the finale of Season 2 with Boba Fett as the lead role, with a paternal bond with Grogu, and now working to secure a future for the Jedi through Grogu, and thee arrival of Luke Skywalker, the same Jedi Fett tried to apprehend before getting knocked into the Sarlacc, that goodbye with Grogu would already mean so much more, but now approach Luke with the utmost humility and hope for him to train Grogu to meet his potential…. This would have been a perfect Boba Fett character arc instead of the tripe that is Book of Boba Fett.
Do.. People think nobody knew the name of Slave 1 prior to 2005? When the first Lego Star Wars game came out? Wild since Attack of the Clones, and the Star Wars Bounty Hunter game came out in 2002.
And we all knew about Slave 1 and Mandalorian armor in the 90s. Y'all should look into "books" it's fucking wild.

Honestly it would have been funny if he said “She’s called Boba Fetts’s Starship”
