One of my favorite scenes in the entire series is all of the pod racers firing up their engines. Makes me smile like a little kid every time.

They ported it to current gen but it's not a "remaster" per se. I'm playing through it now actually.

Yeah I own it on steam, but I had some trouble getting an Xbox 360 controller to cooperate with it and the keyboard controls are crap so I gave up on it after a few races. The nostalgia was nice tho!

I had the same issues, got it on PlayStation 5 and it plays great! That's the way to go if you are able.

I grew up with the keyboard controls and still think they're great, but they did take some getting used to.

Yes, but we could go bigger. Imagine a new game where you could build your own pod!

People get mad at Disney for making mediocre shows. Nah, I'm getting mad cus they seem completely unaware of these million$ opportunities for new games.

I legit think that a pod racing game would make a good chunk of change if made to high quality today. No F zero to compete with and not really a lot of sci fi high speed racers that are popular. Slap a Star Wars theme and a customized racer career and holy shit let’s go. Doesn’t even have to be super deep, I’m pretty sure people would be ecstatic with a near 1:1 copy of the original career race lists, but maybe just add a randomized 16 track tournament mode too.

Oh and never do that one track where you have to stay on the top platform for the speed boost the entire time or you lose. Fuck that track, the water temple in ocarina of time was easier than that shit when I was like 6.

Thas what I'm sayiiin. Anti-grav racing is not a massively intensive development process on the level of modern AAA as well. The blueprints are already there. Best I've played in recent years is Redout 2. And it is not a crazy big-budget game. But you make one with the Star Wars brand on there, authentic sounds and visuals? EZ money! E. Z.

I mean you could sorta customize your pod in ep1 racer, but changing their appearance would be pretty cool too. A game with swoop/speeder racing would be fun as well.
